OrangeSpoon
Silix has this nice looking version... http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1690 I really like the Santos Chrono but they don't seem to be very popular on the forums. Is there a reason for this? i.e. quality usually = crap etc... thanks
andreww
Actually, the feedback on these has been quite good from guys that own them. The only complaints have been about the strap, and because it is unique to the watch, you don't have any alternatives but to get a gen strap that is very expensive. Its also a pretty large watch! Defender110
its a buy... but the sunken date prevents me personally from taking the leap.. although the 7753 version has hit the streets and this one without hesitation is a buy simply because of the gen movement.. i would pop for a non chrono version if we could source correct dials too :-)
Sonicwinter
Silix has this nice looking version... http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1690 I really like the Santos Chrono but they don't seem to be very popular on the forums. Is there a reason for this? i.e. quality usually = crap etc... thanks I've heard many good things about it and I believe the Replica Podcast gave it a very good review as well save for the weak / soft-ish strap ends. I've personally seen this watch about twice at my dealer and was very close to buying it but what stopped me was the price. Also, I've seen another edition with thicker date font (the one that's supposedly for PAMs so it's actually wrong, believe it or not) that's supposed to be a genuine swiss movt but that's even costlier. And the worst thing is I noticed the dial colour was slightly too dark - it was closer to a creamy beige colour and that made the white date stick out like a sore thumb. Correct me if I'm wrong but the correct dial colour is more of a off-white and not so beige-y, right? Still, I think it's a very nice watch (I put it on and loved it) so it's on my to-buy list... as soon as the price drops! Does anyone know the actual colour of the dial? It's really hard to tell from photos but from ads I've seen in magazines, it looks very close to the date colour and shouldn't really differ too much. Also does the original have AR? Hmmm, maybe it's time to pop into an AD to check it out. Haha.

Is there a reason for this? i.e. quality usually = crap etc... thanks Hello: I know to silix for more than one year. In this time I have bought him more than ten clocks. Some for me and other for my friends. It is a great dealer. If I have had a problem with some watch one he has sent me another one. It is also quite cheaper that other dealer of this forum with the same quality. The cartier santos 100 chronograph that the one sells is a fantastic watch. The movement asian 7750 I believe that it is very good. The watch is ahead 5 up-to-date seconds. I have had in my hand a genuine cartier santos 100 chronograph and its reply is extremely similar I recommend you silix
