slickdick Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 (edited) Please share your technique of removing dial feet. I've tried various methods. results varying from dial molesting to moderate success. There remains however a tiny little piece of the feet, which touches the datewheel when trying to mount the dial. how to get rid of it in a manner which does not kill the dial? thanks for any input, Job Edited April 6, 2006 by slickdick
RWG Technical Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Flush cutters, snip them off as close to the dial as you can. Then take a fine Swiss flat file, and file the remaining part flush with the back of the dial... RG
stac Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 It's good to see Rob posting here... oh and by the way, he's absolutely correct...as always

Yes you can get stick on dial feet. But I just stick them on either with crystal cement or cut some double sided tape to the correct size/shape and "Bob's your uncle" as we say in England (I don't mean Nanuq BTW)!!!!
Davey Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 (edited) They are normally soldered on, but you cant really re-solder new feet once the dial is painted as the paint may bubble or crack. Best bet is to use a strong adhesive.. As for getting them off, I just snap them off, or twist them with a small pair of pliers, the solder normally gives way pretty easy.
