best way to remove dial feet?

Recommended Posts

Please share your technique of removing dial feet.

I've tried various methods. results varying from dial molesting to moderate success. There remains however a tiny little piece of the feet, which touches the datewheel when trying to mount the dial. how to get rid of it in a manner which does not kill the dial?

thanks for any input,

Job

question:can dial feet be replaced ?

I think there are replacement feet to glue on.. right ?

The Zigmeister , you should know.

Yes you can get stick on dial feet. But I just stick them on either with crystal cement or cut some double sided tape to the correct size/shape and "Bob's your uncle" as we say in England (I don't mean Nanuq BTW)!!!!

They are normally soldered on, but you cant really re-solder new feet once the dial is painted as the paint may bubble or crack.

Best bet is to use a strong adhesive..

As for getting them off, I just snap them off, or twist them with a small pair of pliers, the solder normally gives way pretty easy.
