richard_uk Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 (edited) Never thought I'd find myself liking a Jacob & Co watch, but I really like this one, I used to have a Jaz Derby drivers watch with a similar time display, which reminds me of a car clock mile counter, which was nice but it wasn't a patch on this beast, and a 31 day power reserve too! This cage is suspended without roller bearings and positioned vertically. Winds with integrated key, external hand key or motorized in the box. Caliber: 5 Power Reserve: 31 day power reserve (744 hours), supplied by the energy of 7 barrels and displayed through vertical rolls Jewels: 40 Functions: Indications of hours, minutes, power reserve is made by vertical disks assembled coaxially Crystal: Sapphire Water Resistance: 100ft / 30m Special Features: On-off key for time set up or winding; external access to the Tourbillion for fine-tuning; Tourbillion cage visible on the edge of the clock Strap: Rubber Warranty: 2 years Limited Edition Series: 99 pieces in White Gold, 18 pieces in Rose Gold, 18 pieces in Magnesium Platinum on request Edited March 23, 2007 by richard_uk
Rolexman Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 That's a really cool watch... something different from the plain and simple ETA quartz movements in the current J&Cs. Who's the manufacturer of the movement? It can't be Jacob the jeweler!
b16a2 Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Would be like wearing a jukebox on your arm. Looks very thick! I kind of like it!
richard_uk Posted March 23, 2007 Author Report Posted March 23, 2007 I came across the watch in this months hr:WATCHES magazine, I've just read the whole article but there's no mention of who makes the movement. From what I read the box it comes in is just as awesome as the watch, I'll try and scan the pages (haven't used the scan function on my printer/scanner before) and post them below.
jfreeman420 Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Really interesting watch. Good to see Jacob focusing more on movements than how many diamonds he can fit on a watch (did I really say that?) This reminds me of the Parmigiani Bugatti.
richard_uk Posted March 23, 2007 Author Report Posted March 23, 2007 I'd love to see a video clip of the box in action, I'm a bit of a gadget freak so this watch and the box are right up my street.
Dario33 Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 There was a thread on these over at RWI...very slick watch...no chance of rep though.
geekybiker Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 I love it! Id buy one if its ever repped.
TWP Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 There was a thread on these over at RWI...very slick watch...no chance of rep though. i remember seeing it over there. Slick??? I dunno perhaps if it came with a pull down lever. I'd say eccentric.
eunomians Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Interesting watch. But anybody who gives Jacob any money at all is a complete idiot.
