Dutchy
Alright, that makes my current wishlist/order list: Yachtmaster S/S Rolesium, Standard black subbie, MBW luckyyy's Sub Vintage GMT II Pepsi Breitling Seawolf Avenger Breitling Chronomat Breitling Crosswind Omega SMP Omega Sppedmaster AP Royal Oak Vacheron Overseas (PANERAI WILL COME IF THERES 'TIME', HAHA, THEY LOOK KINDA BIG ON ME...I KNOW I KNOW....I SHOULD GET THE 42MM OR EVEN 40MM.....BUT IN MY OPINION, PANERAI IS SUPPOSED TO BE HUGE (DUH) AND YOU SHOULDNT DOWNGRADE THE SIZE!!...With Panerai....size matters) A hell of a lot of watches for an 18 year old? Yes. But I look older, so thats good! But I have some money now, am sick of the asian crap canal street and I dont spend it on drugs like 90% of my grade here (thats my reaosning for spending it on my addiction.....watches!!). I think I will go with PT on these, EU based, much easier for me to ship to my dutch courier and through to south america, will not go through customs and is out of the states reach (direct south america is soooooooo risky...DHL/TNT/regular EMS EMPLOYEES steal....no customs problems, but stolen by emplyees!!!!!!) On another note: You know how people have for example a Gen sub and then buy a replica when they go places that they feel are unsafe or even just outside and they wear the rep and keep the gen in a safe? Well with me? I have an ETA and a Chinese copy, since here you are bound to be robbed any minute (as a 6'3 extremely blond kid), so If I get robbed I wont get beat up as its a Rolex according to them that they are stealing and leave you alone if they find something NICE on you, they actually have an asian one (yes, Its happened before with my crappy daytona...best 18 dollars I ever spent!!), the ETA I keep for 'safer places' (movies, friends, parties, school, etc) Anyway, please let me know what you guys feel in terms of: - The models Ive chosen (disregarding "dude you're 18, they will look so fake!"...I dont care, really!!) - The Dealer Precious Time, an upstanding fellow (great for the EU!) - Anything else related! Thanks again for all your help! I want to start my collection and have already enquired about a 10 watch box from acetimer...I chose the 10, not the 20, as 20 means Ill have to get 20...hahaha, I will be not just yet. So I got the 10 watch box....5 is just wimpy and so is 6 (sorry to those that have one).... All the best, Floris Edited April 9, 2006 by Dutchy
cwai02
If I were you @18, I would get some sporty style watches. Breitling Seawolf Avenger is a good choice, or SMP, Planet Ocean...or maybe a LV sub? It does look weird for an 18 years old wearing Rolex. Indeed, Im gonna get the SMP and Seawolf for sure, later on the a lange for my dad or a patek I saw for him. Anyway, kids at my school are extremely rich (oil), therefore with a Rolex you fit in.......with a Timex, you'll be beat up P.S. I look like im at least 22-23. All opinion welcome and I like your choice! Edited April 9, 2006 by Dutchy

Dutchy
Beautiful selection. Although the Panerai not yet for me. Bricky was extremely extremely helpful with his info and personal opinion, thanks bricky!!! I like different designs (like the AP Royal Oak) and the Panerai, but I think its meant for full version and not a 40-42mm, you know? Edit: DEFINATELY THE VACHERON ON THERE!! MAN OH MAN, BEAUTIFUL! Thanks, Floris Edited April 9, 2006 by Dutchy

Dutchy
Chronomat and Crosswind: no descent reps available... I got the last one a few years ago Hahah, seen that pic before! ....will I have to get the gen? I didnt like the Colt gen I had (cheap crap for the price....you could see it was a poor mans breitling) and the Chronomat was too blingy for a 16 year old. I never spend my money so it builds, but now I gotta take a part of it!! Now im ready to get another gen chronomat or crosswind, only if necessary though. I generally dont like gens as much but if ya cant get it in rep, I wont just move on! Thanks. Floris
Rolexman
Go for the real deal! You won't regret it!.. nothing beats a gen. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1157
buckeye
Dutchy: Good list. I have the following: MBW DRSD MBW Millgaus MBW A/P Royal Oak Jumbo SMP Yachtmaster Rolesium Breitling Seawolf Panerai 005 JLC Reserve de Marche Muller Conquistador If it's any help in your selection process, I wear the DRSD and the Seawolf the most.... Now if it was me, I'd go over to TRC (Rolex area) and check out the orange hand Explorer with the gen movement that Luckyyy is selling...probably will cost a lot of your list...but sweet...what a great compromise...vintage RLX, gen movement, MBW quality.... jeff

Beautiful choice and the A/P too!! I keep adding on, haha! The FM is not yet for me. Too much a fan of rounded watches and dont wanna get addicted to more, haha! I just dont feel the need for gens, I mean...depending on how long this will last....ETA's last for ages.

Dutchy
Chronus, stop it....PLEASE!!! The Addiction.......ah!! Now Im looking at luckyyys stuff on TRC....dunno if its worth it as no one sees the difference anywhere (except for watch experts that you come across) and it would be for prsonal satisfaction (which is important of course!) rather than for others to believe its real. ......Do luckyyy's last longer (the movement) as its more snug in the casing and stuff.....or not? All the best, Floris I got the Yachtmaster S/S Rolesium frpm Precious Time and I like it Right now on a PAM addiction. I doubt PT will have luckyyy's sub though! you'll probably have to contact him yourself, or order from luckyyy and get it sent to your dutch courier. Of the Breitlings I would only get the Seawolf Avenger (on the way from silix ) but there may be issues with the screws on the bezel falling out. Have fun with them, just give it time to break in, wear one for one week, then another for the next. Too many quick changes will bring up questions at your school

I didnt mean that PT would have Luckyyy's sub....I just wanted to know how long his movement would last. Ive never had an ETA die on me since I usually just sell on hen I get bored....so I never see the dying die...nor ned for servicing, cant see myself paying for that (i know i know...stupid) Anyway, I am having such a hard time...I want the black sub really bad first (later the blue sub as its just cool, no question) and the yachtmaster ETA...well, you like it, so im sure I will too!! The Avenger is my first choice for now in terms of Breitling, pure excellence, but I may have to buy the gen instead...in order to have one thats fully operational. Thanks for your help!! Chronus
Ajax is my club......I have seen thousands of him but I never really paid attention to watches though It had interviews with him in training and with his wife and young kid (Jordi?) at the time. He had a Franck Muller shaped watch on a metal bracelet that hadn't been re-sized. It kept moving from down near his elbow all the way to the bottom of his hand! Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....... I don't understand Dutch so I just enjoyed the football clips... strange flute music used during those clips though! I got the DVD for a friend who is an Ajax and Holland nut, and his favourite player of all time is Johan Cruyff. He tells everyone he is half dutch and puts a "Van" in his name too I told him yesterday he needs to give up on going out with these Russian women that he says are cold, and find a Dutch girl, then maybe his son can play for Holland

Second, the guy that put a 'Van' in his name, hahaha. hilarious! Yeah but it's Cruyff, he could have afforded a custom made fitting band! And the guy with van... trust me he loves Dutch football. He was stopped at Dutch customs on the way back to London with lots of videos in his bag. The customs guy said we know what you have... guys always go over to get porn, and he said "no, it's videos of Cruyff and Resenbrink, watch it and see for yourself". They took it away and came back in disgust, gave him back his videos telling him he was a weirdo His friend who was with him, known as Scum (incessantly cheats on his wife - she has never suspected), had a bag full of porn but got away with it because of the football videos! Chronus
Dude, you have an interesting line of friends!!!! This half-Dutch guy (!) is a nice guy, into his watches like me, and now a few reps too.... but see him in action with women, he can talk them into doing anything, and it's not like he's the greatest looking or in any kind of decent shape! Just tag along with him and you get a chance ....! The guy can definitely talk... must be that cheeky grin when he says he has his lambourghini outside, they know he's joking but play along with him. Viennawatch
I'd say, get a leopard Rolex Daytona.... Figuring that you are 18, no one will believe you are sporting a real watch over the 2000 dollar mark.. Unless you are rich or intend to tell everyone its fake.. so whats the point in making sure to get a watch for your age, right? haha.. get what you want...
