bigmouth
I had the same problem (strap flexing away from the case) with my strap. I solved it by squeezing in a thicker springbar, 1.78mm I think. That solved the problem. Now, I can strap it thight on my wrist with no flex whatsoever. OK, so fatter springbars will solve the problem. Just pushed out the "old" springbars with the link removal tool and ordered 2 sprinbars 22mm 1.8. Thanks for the tip guys! who
Can someone tell me where can I order some springbar as well as some pin for the PO/SMP? I would like to have an extra set of spring bar for both the SS bracelet and the rubber strap. Will 1.8mm x 22mm spring bar fit the SS bracelet or it is just good for the rubber strap? Thank you
Dario33
I too can attest that a thicker springbar fixes the problem with the strap coming loose at the lugs. I took a thinner springbar and put a layer of thin tape around it -- just enough to make it a 'snugger' fit through the rubber. Strap wears nice and tight now. bigpops
I also have the problem of the end of the strap flipping away from the watch. My spring bars are so tight in it, i had to use a pin vice to push them through. I have a small-ish wrist (6.75"). It doesn't happen all the time, just when i knock it slightly. I've also noticed that there's a 1mm gap all the way around between the watch and strap while the staps is fastened. Even on the last (or first - the one furthest from the watch). It's still okay for occasional wear, and i haven't noticed the strap picking up anywhere near as much dust as the old 20mm one with the guide pin. EDIT: Pic added to illustrate the gap. I guess this doesn't fit the Ulitimate PO as well as it does Silix's Casino Royale PO.
Xac
I had this issue with the strap flexing out as well. I will go to my local watchband store (yes, it's a watch BAND store) and buy bigger springbars soon to try and see if this fixes the problem. Fireman_Fred
Cheers Pug for doing a UK order ! I'm chuffed to bits with mine !! I bought my "UPO" from Jay & Angel and the strap fits "like a glove" with no flexing at all. The spring bars were a nightmare to get through the holes but the strap fitted in seconds and there is no gap at all between the case and the ends of the strap. If there is a slight difference between the cases supplied by Silix and other dealers, it may account for the variations in fit of the straps from Silix? And now I'm a "VIP", here's a wrist shot ! : I'm pretty sure I have thicker-than-stock spring bars in mine (tough to fit in the rubber) as I changed them when I put a leather strap on it. I have seen the bottom strap pop out, but only when I tighten the strap way too tight.
eunomians
Out of curiosity, where would be a nice place to get the PO? I am just thinking, but these rubber pics are making me a convert.

deltatahoe
Out of curiosity, where would be a nice place to get the PO? I am just thinking, but these rubber pics are making me a convert. i went with the ultimate PO lite from josh and the rubber strap from silix; i have to say i don't think you can find a more attractively priced combo for a great, sporty watch. the bracelet has a quality feel to it, but i like the watch 5x more with the rubber strap. you should know that the uPO lite has a slightly different (asian) datewheel, so it might not be for you if you're picky about perfect date fonts, etc. deltatahoe
Markus
Received my rubber strap from Silix last week but had to wait until my watch got back from being repaired, which it did this morning (Nice one Josh!)... Was a bugger to get the thicker spring bars in but I got there eventually and the strap fits perfectly... Ultimate PO from Josh, Strap from Silix I can't see this coming off my wrist for a while... Dario33
Anyone else get the vaseline/oil trick to work? Even with oil...I can't get these 1.80mm springbars in...think I need the next smaller size down.

Even with oil...I can't get these 1.80mm springbars in...think I need the next smaller size down. i'm letting the wound on my thumb heal before trying any more springbar tricks on this one (lube or no lube). i was able to get the springbars in 90% of the way using needle nose pliers (without lube), but the last little bit was just impossible. i'll report back once i try again... bigpops
I've just swapped my spring bars for new 1.8mm ones. The old ones were the same thickness, but the ends were slightly bent, causing my issues (see my post above). The new ones have solved my problems of the strap flexing, and the gap i had between the strap and watch. So, new 1.8mm springbars for the win. lucasusaf
Pug, Silix dealed out your 45mm? I'm thinking of picking up two for a friend and I, but looking at the 45mm w/Orange Bezels. Silix has them as ETA's, but heard some talk of some being 21j Asian.

scotthammond
Does anyone know where I can get a 20mm rubber strap for my SMP? Rep of course. I believe Joshua has them. Go to the Omega section and then Straps and Accessories. It says it is for a 42mm PO, but I believe that is the one with 20mm lugs.
