nxuan
Just saw these pics of gen Cousteau at TZ. Look at the perfect day-date display. For those of you who complained about crooked markers, you can feel better now. The gen has the same problem! Sub-dial and hands Back credited to Replevin at TZ It will be very interesting if the owners of the Cousteau try to shoot yours in the same fashions for comparison. Thanks. Amadeus
I'm not a good photographer, the lighting is not ideal and I just use whatever I have for a quick shot, just to compare. Date window: Markers at 12 (shadows create illusion that the lume of bezel looks crooked, it's not) Sub-dials and Hands Back
eunomians
Nice comparison pics. The rep looks good (for a rep).

gioarmani
Interesting. Is that a real wood veneer?
nxuan
Thanks Amadeus for taking up the challenge very promptly. Your Cousteau looks very good. The differences in these pictures are rather minute and can not been seen without very close look. If the day-date can be improved, you've got really good one. Congratulations. rmcsherry
Interesting that you can call out many IWC reps by the 'Schaffhausen' text being to large in comparison to the day/date - this one being no exception. Is the veneer encased in plastic / laquered? I'm interested in how it compares to the original. The rep looks amazing though, I'd better start saving! morgan
As far as I can tell it's not wood at all but likely a color photo of wood covered by what feels like glass? Could be mistaken.

It is wood! Covered in glass or mineral glass, it's definitely not plastic.
