krustybrand
That dial's silver, and has to be the best looking one yet.
Richard Tracy
Yep I think so too.. also found a timezone page about it.. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tre...o=1201281&rid=

krustybrand
Since all our dealers are going only by photos sent to them from the supplier, I submit that nobody yet knows the true color of the dial on the rep. The gen appears to be one of those colors that shifts considerably with increased exposure on the photo. We need someone to buy the 'white' one and give us a review. It won't be me, as I have the black one coming. If the white one turns out to be an accurate silver, I'll be all over it!
cwai02
T - SWISS MADE - T The crown doesn't seem to be a screw down crown. Correct me if I am wrong.
krustybrand
Even on the gen, you don't see the external threads on the case tube that you see on other watches like Rolex. It appears smooth on the outside with a shoulder at the case end. I don't know where the threads are, as the gen does indeed screw down.
Richard Tracy
The white is on the way to me .. I will let you know..
Pugwash
T - SWISS MADE - T This model was made in the transition between Tritium and non-tritium. It's possible both dials are correct.
Hok
im wondering... this doesn't look like 42mm, does it?. maybe he wears a rep Edited April 18, 2006 by Hok
Pugwash
im wondering... this doesn't look like 42mm. maybe he wears a rep 42.5mm or there abouts, including the crown. It's the same size as the IWC GST Chrono, from what I can gather.
Pugwash
I allso think that the crown is not screwed down. Thats sad i think... Is it a way to make it waterproof if the crown is not a screw down crown? Why on earth do you assume the crown doesn't screw down? At a guess, I'd say the crown does screw down. It does on the original, it does on the GST Chrono ...
Richard Tracy
From the sale listings of this rare gem the size is coming up at 39.6mm to 42. so Pug is right.. same size as the gst..
Pugwash
It's a felling i have!!! Bellive me i would be verry happy and glad if this watch came with a screw down crown... Imagine that they shared parts with the GST Chrono, then it'd have a screw-down crown. I bet you will not be disappointed.
cwai02
Imagine that they shared parts with the GST Chrono, then it'd have a screw-down crown. I bet you will not be disappointed. The GST chrono is a 7750, so the crown is not necessary to be the same part.

Richard Tracy
If anyone sees Andrew's post of this watch, he will notice the photo where the crown is out, and no threads are in evidence,.. however the Gst is the same when opened,..the threads are deeper inside the case but still there... Canuck88
looks like it has threads to me (although inside the case)... maybe we're too used to looking at sub tubes?

longshot
Shadows of what it looks like threads to me, but I don't have my glasses on. I'm very tempted by one of these, but I did receive an email from Andrew today and he say's that as far as he knows it does NOT have a screw down crown :yucky: I hope he's wrong! Richard Tracy
Whatever the verdict, since I don't dive anymore, or even take showers with my watch on any longer... I am excited to receive this piece.. fits a Perfect spot in my collection...
Canuck88
Well, the gen doesn't have a screw down so I guess it's faithful to the original...
krustybrand
If you read the review that pic comes from, you'll see that it does indeed screw down, even looking like it does, so there's no way to judge the rep until someone actually sees one. Nobody, not even our dealers, has handled one yet.
cwai02
Well, the gen doesn't have a screw down so I guess it's faithful to the original... 2000M without screw down crown. That is interesting.
chrono903
Having had 3 gens, 2 s/s and one ti, i can tell you they have a screw down crown. they are also much larger than the gst chrono. they come in at 42mm. the gen white dial was a shop hog, no one wanted them. The second hand on the gen white dial is blue. the bracelet system is very comfortable as stated previously. another problem with the white dial, when they were produced, iwc for some reason used tritium on the 12 indices and hands and SL on the rest of the indices, hence, it should say T swiss made T on the dial. I had one of these mixed dial versions and sold it because the 12 marker yellowed in relation to the other markers. It reminded me of 2 big yellow teeth. heres a pic i took of mine.
