The Kampfschwimmer dial was evidently used by the German military in WWII in some watches and has long been prized by collectors.

Bill Yao (who makes custom Seiko and ETA dials and hands and some custom mil-style watches) under the MK II label made a modern version a couple years ago that sold out instantly and is now impossible to find.

Personally I could take it or leave it ;)

Hahahah,,,, Nope,, it's a Rolex pocket watch movement AND original dial,, stuck in a case... Look at it in a pocket watch,, the sub sec would be at 6,, and the crown at 12.... In a Pam 3646,, they just use the "right" dial for it,,, My guess is it's a fake,,

I believe the dial position has a purpose.

Imagine holding a rifle, you can look at the time without taking your hand off.

what? hows that even possible? your upper wrist is pointed to the ground when holding a rifle!

My guess is it is real. That is a gen movement for this watch. Yes it is the same as a rolex pocket watch - but that is what they used in these watches.
