vintagerolex
I baught a generic cown and tube and have been told by the seller that in order for the 2 parts to fit together - "You have to broach out the pendant to make the crown fit" I have no idea what this means. I looked on wikipeadia and it seems like broaching is somthing like using a file. Any help is appreciated....

vintagerolex
Look at the bay Item Number 5076244811 Thanks for your reply, but I don't think that this is my poblem. The tube and the crown do not fit together, I have been told to 'broach the pendant'. It is as if the centre of the tube is too narrow. I don't think that this is the same thing as tapping. Looks like you have the old style twinlock tube which has no flutting in it. You need to drill out the inner tube using a 2.1mm bit, then your crown will fit in perfectly. Hope this helps. Either that or purchase the new style tube (with a larger hole and splines around the inner perimeter of the wider end of the tube) from ebay or one of the parts houses like cousinsuk.com.
