Tom Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) I disassembled my Vintage Sub with the ETA at the weekend to distress it and now cannot get the crown stem to click back into place. I got to the point where I was so cross I tried to force it and thought.....STOP NOW before I do something i'll regret. I am going to take it into a watchsmith, but has anyone had this problem before? It clicked out fine and goes all the way in but will just not lock into place - it just keeps sliding out again. Very frustrating. Edited July 9, 2007 by Tom
sssurfer Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 No expert in subs here, but... Is there any point / micro-pusher that you had to push in order to remove the stem? Maybe the micropusher got stuck somehow so it stays pushed even when you are not pushing it anymore? This would prevent the stem to click back. If this is not the case, most likely something went screwed up with the keyless work ---> watchsmith required.
alligoat Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Yep, you probably boogered up the keyless works. My watchsmith charged me $30 last time I did it to fix the problem.
