COSC for the genuine CORC for the replicas?

Snooping among my old magazines of clocks I have found an interesting article on the chronometer.

I have to think that could be made a bulletin of the replicas .

You could offer this way an evaluation of the quality of the mechanism adopted by the builders of replicas.

Doesn't it seem you can interest?

I infuse the chronometer according to the I.S.O. (International Standardization Organization) and the N.I.H.S (Legislation of the Industry Clocks Switzerland) other is not but a way to point out the precision of a wrist clock according to the conditions of use.

The C.O.S.C. (Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres), entre that furnishes the homonym certification, foresees that the daily difference in comparison to a schedule of reference both equal to -4 is +6 seconds, for movements with diameter of 20mm, and between -5 and +8 seconds per diem for movements with diameter of smaller or equal to 20 mms.

The test is effected for 15 days and for 3 days a thermal test (the clock is set in conditions of cold, heat and averages to es. 8°c, 30°c, 38°c).

Then whether not to make a bulletin of our replicas?

Here an example created by me.

Instructions shortly for C.O.R.C (Control Official Replica of Chronometer) :

1) you syncronize to the beginning of the test yours it replies with a sure reference (to es. a signal radio);

2) every following day to the same one you will now check the difference among yours it replies and the reference annotating the data on the chart (if your clock has gone on of 2 seconds or less than 2 seconds you will mark +2 or -2);

3) you add the daily discards at the end of every week and bring you them in chart (example if our clock has discards of +10, -2, +4, -5, +8, -20 will write +10-2+4-5+8-20 = - 5);

4) you add the weekly discards with the remaining days to end the month;

5) you divide discard weekly for the number of days and you will get discard daily (example +245 : 31 = + 8 seconds or + 245 : 31 = -8 seconds);

6) you divide discard weekly for sixty and you will get discard monthly compared to the minutes (example +245 : 60 = + 4 minutes or -245 : 60 = -4 minutes).

Hoping both of some interest.... MAHLER

The movement, according to the CORC, it has to have a monthly discard among -5 or +5.

The clock must normally be wears to the wrist (important: when it is driven the vibrations they worsen the performances of the clock.

The CORC test the movement under conditions of daily use on the wrist.
