Victoria
Do you feel collectors often quality control their very first shipment when you order that first time with them...and then, once they see you have your repeat custom, they start to be less careful? After a full month's worth of purchasing 16 reps from 4 different collectors*, I've noticed that almost without exception their first shipment is impeccable, comms lightning quick, extremely fast shipping (less than a week), and problem-free. Then, a breakdown in quality becomes highly noticeable, almost to the point of every shipment thereafter containing SOME problem, however insignificant like a wrong strap, deployant missing, and the like. Ultimately, our hobby is riddled with problems, and patience is required. All of us understand that. And most of the more reputable collectors will take care of you without much hassle. fitmic
Interresting... Never thought about it that way. But in a way, that couldn't be possible since most dealers drop ship, and don't have any control over quality.

FxrAndy
So far i have had very good dealings with all our collectors, but have not had a lot of repete dealings as as soon as i say this is the collector for me then along comes the next watch i want and is only from another dealer so far and in order i have worked with Eddie lee, Precious Time, Andrew, Josh x 2, Silix x 2 and TTK, so far "life is good"
dluddy
I think it is just the nature of the game we play. The QC issue with reps is unavoidable and sometimes things just get damaged in transit. Have you ever seen how mail/packages get sorted I have bought from every major collector in the 4+ years of running on this rep ratwheel. I have had a few that were perfect out of the box but most of the time there is some issue that needs to be dealt with. This is why a relationship with a local repair-person is invaluable. Mine is in Canada I recently had a crown issue with a non-dropshipped watch. I would say that my percentage of receipts with problems easily exceeds 50%. Oddly enough, the most memorable out-of-the box experience was my first ever rep purchase (Eddie), so maybe you are on to something
scoobs1971
I'm on this board since december last year. I bought 6 watches from Precious Time only, since I'm based in the EU. The SMP was a little troublesome with the bracelet screws and I didn't like the quality of the wave pattern of the dial and replaced it with gen dial and hands. But that seems to be the current quality of this rep. Other than that I've been very happy with this collector and wouldn't try another. In the end it's still 'first choose your dealer, than the watch'.
