Pictorial of Installing Lello datewheel on PAM 27/28

This is just a few quick pics to show people that it isn't difficult to do this at all.

Some people have said that it may be difficult to do as the soprod modified ETA 2892 movement has extra gears for the power reserve but the movement has been modified so well by soprod that its just an extra top plate on the movement and all the extra gears are held in place and don't come loose so its pretty easy to remove, pretty much like doing normal date wheel exchange actually.

Ive shown pics of what i did along the way, sorry but im not going to comment on every picture as im way too tired and had a shitty day at work (training to be a secondary school teacher and the kids were little shites today!!).

I installed a Lello date wheel and also the dial has been relumed by The Zigmeister and glows like a torch!!!

I do have a Kruzer genuine crown but it doesn't fit, ill have to modify the case, a job for another time!!

Enjoy

Hey B-

Looks really good. Now you just have to PVD that case or swap the dial. ;) Seriously, nice tutorial. :)

Yes i know, I do have the PAM 27 plain dial though but i prefer the hobnail better, and im not a big fan of PVD, so it looks like the next step is to install the crown i got from you.

By the way do you know how The Zigmeister installed them? was it a huge modification to the case?

As I understand it the crown installation did require modest case tube adjustment. What I don't know is whether he had to do anything else. But I know it has been done on numerous GMT's and Power Reserves. I am going to have it done on my 27 but I am waiting until I receive the date wheel you just installed before sending it off.

Bumping a ZOMBIE thread!!!

Does anyone have these pictures???

I purchased an amazing ETA 2892 with a 9040 mounted and now I need to switch the date wheel.

I humbly come to the home of the Old School masters seeking knowledge!
