space Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 (edited) found this one over at trustytime: http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...bc8ed8e39b33281 Definetly the best replica of this watch I have seen. White border around the date window, correct bezel at 6 and 18. Any flaws? Looks like the red writing isn't "strong enough". Should be more clear red, but it might be the pictures? ..And the bezel alignment of cource, but that's an easy fix, right? ..And the minute hand is to short, as allways. ..And the triangle at the bezel is too bold. ..And maybe the lume is too green? And what about that Asian Automatic 21J movement? reliable? Edited May 17, 2006 by space
mossanti Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 I've never seen an original like that...is the the new omega ??
space Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 I've never seen an original like that...is the the new omega ?? It has been around some time. It's the Seamaster GMT. Timezone has an article on it from july 2000: http://www.timezone.com/library/tmachine/t...687688492262231
Guest Sql_pl Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Nice... Here is my gen fo comparison: Cheers!
mossanti Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 nice one ..thanks for that ..i will read about it ...hope you will make your decision on this
r11co Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 (edited) Looks good for the money (although I'd like to actually see the GMT hand), and the Asian 21J movement is rock-solid. Edited May 17, 2006 by r11co
By-Tor Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 (edited) It's GREAT to see this watch finally repped properly. Of course the bezel/insert alignment is still f'd up but that's probably not a surprise to anyone. Edited May 17, 2006 by By-Tor
r11co Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 OOps! Just noticed the bracelet is completely wrong.
By-Tor Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 OOps! Just noticed the bracelet is completely wrong. No it's not. Only the older model GMT's had the "Bond" bracelet. Sql_pl's GMT is probably from the "first batch".

One of the better black version reps out there - especially with the white border around the date field.
r11co Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Actually - this particular version of the watch is now only sold officially with a black leather or rubber strap!

Of course the bezel/insert alignment is still f'd up but that's probably not a surprise to anyone. What is it with you guys. It's a GMT for Gods sake! Where is the friggin' GMT hand then. This is really cool, now you can chose between a GMT with a white date wheel and missing rectangle around the date window, which sucks. Or you can have a properly repped version, with only the minor flaw of a missing GMT hand. Whats next? Square wheels?
fitmic Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 It's missing the 4th red hand. Looks like the 4th hand is under the other hands, at 2.12!

I know he has the correct one.

HighDef Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 ...and remind him to include the FOURTH HAND The red GMT hand is there, below those stack of hands.

fitmic Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 wow, thats great! maybe I'll order one today as a gift to myself on Norways "birthday". You mean the day when you got liberated from the Swedish oppression?
space Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 You mean the day when you got liberated from the Swedish oppression? You can say it like that... The day we got our own constitution in 1814!
fitmic Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 You can say it like that... The day we got our own constitution in 1814! But wasn't it when the swe-no union was abandoned?
space Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 But wasn't it when the swe-no union was abandoned? That is correct.
