Actually now you mention it MVB, even that 'leather' has a touch of the distressed PVC about it BTW any news on those Tag hands I PM'd you about?
UB7 Posted September 6, 2007 Author Report Posted September 6, 2007 (edited) That tag is as genuine as it gets, although the off center logo makes it look a little off...It's my fathers old watch, hes a retired lawyer practiced law forclose to 40 years...He has 3 gen rolex's I doubt hed sport a fake tag...I actually just asked him about it he said he purchased it on a cruise in 87' Edited September 6, 2007 by UB7
docblackrock Posted September 6, 2007 Report Posted September 6, 2007 Not my intention to argue otherwise especially with respect to your father but I've been collecting Heuers (pre-TAG to LVMH-era) for about 20 years and I'm afraid he may have had a fast one pulled on him on that cruise. It has a bad series 1000-esque bezel, but with a dial that suggest a possible TT S/EL but the dial has the wrong shaped indices and dodgy text ("QUARTZ"? ) and anyway the lugs are all wrong for that type of bracelet. No date is another giveaway. That and the quality is just all over the place. Sorry to break the news, no harm done at least and I bet it keeps on ticking

Even though I can assure you that most of the people here can spot fakes better than most authorized dealers, you don't have to take their word for it. Without knowing anything about the watch, the fact that the case back is "WATERRESISTANT (one word ? ) 200m TESTER (should that say *tested* )" but the dial says "300m-1000ft" should ring some very loud bells. Sorry bud, but that's a fake (My very first rep was a gold SEL with a spray painted bracelet with that exact same caseback and model number)
