premiumdesigners Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 127 Fiddy Case from Andrew Dial from Davidsen Gold Hands from Davidsen Saphire Crystal with AR from Davidsen Canon Pinion from new DRS source (if they fit!) Relume Hands and Dial by Finepics with Yellow Superlume Canon Pinion fix by Finepics Black Cordovan with copper stitch strap from Europelli And this beautiful movement I'm hoping to aquire this week Now here's my delima. Don't know if I should use the blank black 127 dial from davidsen or the original 1950 dial it comes with. what do you gents think? I'm also considering this movement. Get the black hands and get the dials and hands superlumed in WHITE.
V Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I say that if you will do this custom watch use a BLANK dial.. A 1950 Panerai dial will look bad..
premiumdesigners Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 yeah, im leaning that way also.
premiumdesigners Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 silver movement, black hands with white super lume on hands and dial gold movement, gold hands with yellow super lume on hands and dial they both sound nice
V Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 silver movement, black hands with white super lume on hands and dial This sounds better and more unique
chris5264 Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 This sounds like a great project, I want that movement, I really like the finger bridges on the gold one. IMO I would go with the blank dial, just to make the watch more original. I mean, this will be so far from a gen 1950, why have it say 1950 on the dial?
premiumdesigners Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 @chris - you're right. blank dial it is then. i have a bid for the gold movement, if im outbid, ill get the silver movement. if not, i might buy them both! lol
premiumdesigners Posted May 18, 2006 Author Report Posted May 18, 2006 ahhh, the suspense is killing me!! I want this day to be over already!!
t Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 in best opinion my friend this silver color movement looks bad cheap finish, cheap balance wheel, cheap regulator, cheap screws, cheap wheel looks like a older model or a asia copy movement. Only the engraving is nice. the gold color movement is my and belive me my friend... they are different quality as the other movement. i have same movement in silver color, but only 6498 with small second on 6 o´clock from silver color 6497 i haven ONLY 1 piece, and they will rebuild in my 1950 fidy or PAM 111 to build my ULTIMATIVE Panerai and i can´t get more, because so rare movement.
