From a MBW16610 to a franken 14060M

Hi,

once more time I need the help of the Rolex experts. I've found a genuine 14060M dial in perfect condition and I haven't been able to resist. So now I'm trying to make a franken 14060M from a MBW16610 and some genuine parts I've been collecting during last weeks.

My problem now is the crystal. How can I get a good sapphire for the MBW case that look correct for a 14060M? Is there any easy way to remove the cyclops from the 16610 crystal without damaging it? I've search a lot but couldn't reply my own question by myself. Any link to an old topic I've lost?

just use some heat - its just glued - a simple candle will do

But check the inner space before because 14060 case is smaller than 16610, maybe the dial will be too big.

i use a soldering iron and touch it to the cyclops for a few seconds and then use a knife and pop it off. easy.

I'm with torresp on this, check the diameter of the dial and make sure it fits in the 16610 case before you do anything else. Gen dials are typically smaller than the rep dials and it could be too small for the case. And as I recall, a 14060 has a whole set of different dimensions than a gen 16610- like slightly smaller. Double whammy.
