georgegrasser Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 What about the weight? Can't get around that.
ajoesmith Posted October 18, 2007 Author Report Posted October 18, 2007 I dont really care about the weight, its the look im after
arminvanbuuren Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 where do you get bead blasting from? coz i wanna make my omega upo looking like that
capt_cope Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I hate to say it, but it really isn't possible to make SS look like Ti. You can make it look MORE like Ti (and glass beading it at a very low psi is the way I'd recommend) but it doesn't really look anything like Ti. Kinda like brass and gold. Sure the brass can resemble gold, and there are things you can do to help it, but it will never look anything like gold.
Seadweller4000 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 thank you! No problem. I think it looks VERY much like Ti.
cc Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 No problem. I think it looks VERY much like Ti. wow!! that is beautiful. has great texture to it. where can we get this done??
Seadweller4000 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 It was done by a friend of me, he did it at his working place in an engineering company. Unfortunately (at least for me), he got a better employment and has no access to the machines anymore.
ajoesmith Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 I have already tried this on a IWC Aquatimer. check it out here http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...lasted&st=0 This method works, but i as just wondering if there are any other methods Cheers
lumpy Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 saw some examples of seiko's blasted with alumniym oxide at low psi. (on a military watch forum) and they looked great. ao is more abrasive than glass beads so you need to keep the pressure low. you can purchase an inexpensive blast cabinet on e bay and buy the media to do it yourself. i have been wondering if a small "air eraser" would work. the sort you use when airbrushing. @seadweller4000 that sub looks great. i'm gonna get a sterile dial for mine and blast it i have a blaster in my shop.....really really nice.
