cwai02 Posted May 31, 2006 Report Share Posted May 31, 2006 You won't scratch the crystal for removing the AR coating. You only dip the crystal in the chemcial and then wash it with water. I did some reserach on AR coating. Most of the AR coatings are done in the lab. But you can do it yourself as long as you are willing to invest on a vacuum coater or a chemical coater. It's around $300 - $1000 for a used one. its better to spend that money on a waterpressure tester machine, uh? However if ou have a lot of panerais and reps supossed to have ar coating with poor ar coating the coaters worths the pity. We usually have another member living near us, so it would be a good idea that each location (madrid, london, california...) would have a shared machine by the members. Well that´s just a fantasy...
