Calling Out Daytona Wearer In Calgary

got-it

This is a great idea! I think we should try to meet up. Maybe somewhere on 17 Ave SW

There's a good selection on 17th Ave - Melrose, the Yard, The Ship & Anchor - good idea. We need to pick a spot & time. :partytime:

Unfortunately the watch I would probably wear to this meeting stopped working - my PAM 111h :(

Probably buy a new movement from davidson.

If I make it there in a few months time and you are all meeting up, it would be great to join you :1a:

All I know are a couple of women there. :g:

Calgary is a great City to live in, as is Edmonton. Both have there positives and negatives. I have lived in both although it was the mid-80's when I last lived in Calgary and their 14% annual growth rate has really changed the size and character of the City.

I find that not too many Albertan's know or buy much in the way of high end watches. Not as much of a statement here as in other parts of the word. Take Panerai, it means nothing to people here, it just a big watch and you get the "wall clock" or "hockey puck" on your wrist comments but 99.999% know nothing about the brand. The status symbols in Alberta are homes, BIG SUV or pick-up trucks (God help us!!). Those Albertan's who do buy high end watches seem to go for Rolex and sometimes Breitling as others know the brands - IWC, Panerai, mean nothing here.

I have seen folks with expensive trucks and cars get out dressed well but wearing timex or some other cheap watch!! The only place you will probably see high end watches in large supply is on the golf course in Calgary and chances are they are members of the Calgary Flames (sorry could not resist!!)!!

That's the best part of wearing a Panerai here i think, no one knows what it is or that it is a high end watch. I've no fear of being called out....unless i run into got-it :bleh: Just kidding!!!!

I think we should wait for Chronus to make it here :D

I'd planned to go see one on her 23rd birthday in July... but I'm off on a stag (bachelor's) party during that time. She was disappointed but said I could stay with her another time :thumbsupsmileyanim:
