hambone
It was only a matter of time before Panerai watches became recognized as the important contribution to wrist watch allure that they are. The 11/19/2007 issue of Time Magazine has a nice writeup on one of our favorite watches. Will have to buy the mag this week, as I fancy that's the not the complete article on the link.
hambone
Yes Vick, the whole article has photos which are shown in my post, sort of, but the text is all there. A one page story in Time is certainly significant.

Victoria
Thanks HB, any one got a link to theat photo of Peirce Brosnan they show there?? Aye. Here you go, FxrAndy! MUCH more than you expected perhaps. But you know me, I go that extra mile each time. Pierce Brosnan at "The Matador" premiere, with Greg Kinnear. Oh dear, he's "That Guy", isn't he? Like the Shah of Iran, showing off his watch, as per my recent thread on that. Some men shouldn't wear beards. He looks like Billy Connolly...and look at the Nixon watch worn by the autograph hunter chick. Pierce Brosnan wearing his JLC Reverso, which I believe was the watch he wore in The Admin Crown Affair. Pierce with Michael "Feet of Flames" Flatley at the Spirit of Ireland Awards. From the photos, I thought he had those two watches. But I do believe this is an Ingy? And finally, this is the Pierce Brosnan I know and loved as 007 (at the Cartier in Windsor). My word, Irish guys are sooo handsome. ...even if they are a bit of a show off. I was thinking Commander Riker after several years in a Cardassian gulag (Trek Reference for non-sci-fi buffs) As for your comment about beards, indeed, Mr Brosnan certainly looks better clean shaven, although, there are a couple of good sayings... Victoria
I was thinking Commander Riker after several years in a Cardassian gulag (Trek Reference for non-sci-fi buffs) LOL. Oh God, memories of an old boyfriend and his watching Sheep Dip Nine (whatever). As for your comment about beards, indeed, Mr Brosnan certainly looks better clean shaven, although, there are a couple of good sayings... There are some men who just would not look well without a beard, or a moustache. Clark Gable and Tom Selleck come immediately to mind. George V, in the beard category. TeeJay
LOL. Oh God, memories of an old boyfriend and his watching Sheep Dip Nine (whatever). Sacrilage!!! DS-9 was my favorite of the series, and Sisko was my favorite of the captains, even though my earliest memory is of watching an episode of the original series... There are some men who just would not look well without a beard, or a moustache. Clark Gable and Tom Selleck come immediately to mind. George V, in the beard category. Definitely. There was an actor on The O.C who grew a beard over the course of a few episodes, and looked much better with it, than without it. I grew mine as I was sick of people thinking I was younger than I am, and getting IDd to get into bars Hehe. It reminds me of another saying, coincidentally, by that same Trekkie ex-boyfriend, who when he went to Mexico came back saying: "EVERYONE has a big black moustache. Everyone. Men, women, children, dogs, refrigerators." Hee hee, I like that
