Estaban Posted June 6, 2006 Report Share Posted June 6, 2006 Not a big deal, but I took a TWB Tan Hydro (btw, a great strap), used 400 grit standpaper on the tops and a Dremel tool sanding bit on the sides and on areas around the stitiching. Applied mink oil first (three coats) and then have been using some really old leather conditioner I found in my mothers basement. It's called "Cadillac". Estaban Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Share Posted June 7, 2006 The oils will preserve the leather, give it some water repellency, and give it a sheen. Mink oil ususally contains lanolin and some other materials as well. I'm sure there are other types of treatments that do the same thing.
