madasboot Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 I believe thats the famous Guille's project. It has a couple of years but I remember this project had a lot of investment. You can read about it on the risti. Search under Guille. However for such an investment the crown is far from accurate, the work on the CG is not anywhere near perfect and The case set used on this is from a regular RXW tribute watch. It may be a good investment... but not for me.
beano2004 Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 Its a steep investment but perhaps for some of those with deep pockets that want a Rolex movement. Thanks for responding. Bean
Fish Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 A mighty fine movement , but for packing a cardbox would serve just as well as this lousy case...
Watchmeister Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 The only thing that watch is an homage to is overpriced watches. Other than the fact he has an old movement everything else is wrong. I would also point out that he has no bids. If I owned it for nothing I wouldn't wear it. Madasboot knows where I am coming from on this one.
beano2004 Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 I actually found the post that Madasboot referred to and read it seems there was alot of thought an about a years worth of work done its a shame that the only thing worth anything is the movement. I was shocked to find out it was a Risi that built this. Bean
Cucumber_Jones Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 This was the OG of paneristi homages. He mentioned at the time he was offered many thousands for this project. Interesting that he is selling it now.
POTR Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 I like the movement... I like what I can see of the strap... not much else... I'd buy it for the movement... If it were half the price.
peepshow Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) I remember this from his thread on 'Risti. Funny, this is just as much a rep as anything and all the 'Ristis were congratulating him, etc. Hypocrisy at it's pinnacle. That "custom made" dial looks like the template for the indices was sketched out by a kindergartener! I'll pass. Enzo's Angelus powered watches are leagues nicer than this one... beano2004 Posted January 11, 2008 Author Report Posted January 11, 2008 If only one could purchase one of Enzo's Angelus watches....... Bean
peepshow Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Money can't buy everything, eh, Bean?
