  1. 40mm Pam's can only accept 40mm crown guards a 44mm crown guard will not fit.
  2. Having had first hand experience with this ( custom seizure) they look for trade mark makings in every different brand as each one is different and if you cannot prove with a sales receipt from an AD that you bought this watch from they will seize the watch and send pictures to the trade mRk owner like audemars piguet. At that point they AP will make the determination if the watch is genuine... This process listed above take 6 months however if you go down this route and fight them and lose you will e required to pay a hefty sum of fines to the us government which is why almost everyone just gives in and let's them take their watch.
  3. A tag with that movement just sold for $500 last night they are out there you have to be patient and search after..
  4. I would stay clear and fedex and ups those seems to be the biggesred flags. I had the same high dollar franken coming with low dollar value that got stopped and because of some markings on the AP it got seized. I should find out this week what my fate is with this nightmare.
  5. I have first hand knowledge of this and i can tell you that customs has set out to seize all watches coming in no matter what you list.. listing it as a Broken Horological instrument, or timepiece, for repair and return to sender does not work as they still have my Franken AP that I'm fighting for and its been 6 months and an attorney and still nothing in hand. I dont buy anything over seas anymore becasue of this. Gents God Speed. B
  6. No the one I remember had arrows and red lines showing the specific differences including the crown position difference. I might have to make up my own document using some of these including this comparsion. Thanks
  7. I cannot locate the thread that had pictures and pointers of a gen to rep comparsion of a offshore. This is needed to help my fight showing the difference of the two. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. If someone wants more info pm me as I don't want to provide the details in public but its extremely important.
  8. I have been in this situation where I built a franken ap and had it for about six months took several memorable trips with my family and then got tempted with a franken Daytona that I ended up trading it for. I regretted that trade every day I had the Daytona. It took me six months of begging to finally get the ap back and now it will have to be pried off my wrist when I die, it also didnt help that we took a family summer picture so I got reminded every damn day I looked at that picture that was hanging on my wall!
  9. I would be interested if there was some interest with a see thru caseback...
  10. Just curious what does the rep version cost? Also are there other pictures of this
  11. The Franken watches posted are built from collecting the necessary parts and having a lot of patience. There is no store where one can shop for that there is the ad and you pay full price. There are a coup,e of people who can get parts and if your lucky enough and have patience you will get parts to build a franken like this one. The other option is to buy parts that come up from time to time. Good luck with your journey the end makes the wait worth while. Spending on how far you want to take your build and the dial and hands that you ask to buy the savings can be any where to a few thousand to more all depends. .
  12. Having kids makes you look at life in a different way and I heard the news I was sick to my stomach. It got worse when I started watching the news and one of the news stations played a clip where a young girl said all I want is Christmas to be here and this is a bad dream. Words cannot describe how sorry I feel for all of those families as those children did nothing wrong to deserve this. Gun controls or not innocent children lost their lives, what ever means we have to take to protect our children I'm all in.
  13. When it's not on my wrist it's on my winder so yes.....
  14. I have a 3714 and it's been over a year and I have not had any issues, then again I NEVER run the chronos so to each is own.
  15. I have done this mod and bead blasting does not remove all of the pvd. I can also tell you the pvd hardens the case so when drilling the new crown tube one will need a special drill. A special watchmaker up north can handle such request as he has done one successfully.. :-)
  16. Thanks buddy long standing member so no noob. Just was curious if he was still having pm issues with his boxm hence the post in case he was. G
