Some of my collection

Recommended Posts

I snapped a quick pix of most of my collection. You'll notice an obvious theme in my taste. The reps have been accumulated over the past 18 months. Prior to that the only three watches I owned in the photo were the Speedmaster, Tudor Sub and Type 1 (I guess my first franken). Someone stop me! -this is such an evil little hobby :evil2:

Starting from the top is my MBW/MBK 1665 fully modded, with a T39 superdome on a gen expansion rivet bracelet.

The middle row, if you will from L-R: is my franken 1655 w/ gen T116 crystal and Omega Flightmaster hands (which are spot on to the gen). Center is a DSN 6152 with aged dial/hands on a GEF strap with GPF-MOD DEP repro buckle. Next is my gen Tudor 9401 "Snowflake" Sub with T19 superdome.

The bottom row: DW 6263 Daytona with a Valjoux23 movement; gen crown, T21 crystal and 78350 bracelet. Second is a Gen Omega Speedmaster w/ display back. 3rd is my latest piece; a J&W franken Tudor 7031 w/ Valjoux 7734 movement, gen pushers, crystal and 7836 folded bracelet. Last in the lineup is a Marathon Type 1 style diver converted byMkII Watches.

While my interests tend to lean towards Daytonas, I think that Tudor Monte Carlo is probably the jewel in the crown of your collection. You just do not see many of those around. Me likie.

Freddy, I didn't know you were into Daytonas

Thanks! I'd have to agree, the MC is very special and I love the chunkie "big block" case.

I love the Tudor, it's one of my favorite watches ever posted on this forum, love the hands. You don't mind telling me where you got that strap for your speedmaster? I like it and wouldn't mind getting something similar for my vintage GMT on the way from TTK.

Very kind of you Laz, thanks!

Here you go Bruce NASA Strap. -that's a great choice on a GMT as well.

Thanks!

Did your valjoux 72 dw case fit the movement without issues?

Love your tudor monaco..How much time they did take to build your watch?

My DW 6263 is the mystery movement model that I had a VJ23 put into, the only thing was new movement holders had to be made as I recall.

The Monte Carlo was actually in stock at J&W :thumbsupsmileyanim: .
