fivefive Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Hi all, Just wondering whether the following pin adjust removal tool would be good enough to adjust the PO bracelet please? Thank you very much, five
Dario33 Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 I have the same tool - though cheap quality (you get what you pay for, I guess)...anyway, I was able to adjust the links on my UPO with it.
lanikai Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 turtle creation on ebay sells this plier pin tool... everyone say's they break their pin tool with the PO... i adjusted a PO bracelet yesterday and it removed the pins like cutting butter..no problem took 5 minutes.. a lot of other vendors sell it in EU etc.. about 20 usd give or take.. you can buy spare pin pushers for 2.75 usd.. try it it is IMO the best for our purposes.. careful when U get the pin out.. there is a washer in the link that is easily lost if you aren't mindful of it..without it the pin will not stay in place once inserted good luck lani

cornerstone Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Do a search on the forum, because the UPO is notoriously difficult. If you ever want to go mano-a-mano with a watch this is your chance! Even regular watch shops will struggle with it - indeed, you may be better off reading the instructions on the forum and taking it slowly than unleashing an uninformed watch shop monkey on it. I think one of the tips is to use the tool to get the pin out part of the way. Then instead of trying to pull it out, push (hammer) a pin in the other end so that they are both half way - then use pliers (very carefully, and pulling straight, so as not to bend the pins) to pull both pins out.
FxrAndy Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 I use one just like you have to get the pins started and then a longer thinner one to push them the rest of the way out, the pin on this one is too short to push all the way through. You could use a watch makers malet and a drift to get them the rest of the way ones you have started to move it though, as stated PO and omega bracelets with the pin and sleave configuration are notoriosly hard, not just the reps but also the gens.
