masan
I just ordered this strap from Josh. Let's see! Do you mind doing a brief review of it whenever you get it?
marrickvilleboy
I like my Silix strap, but the gen does NOT have these seams running down the side from the mold it was cast in. They are more visible on the keepers, but apparent on the strap as well. Maybe they can be sanded off? Also, I'm curious what people have used (silicone?) to treat the rubber. It's not so much that it attracts dust, but the material itself has a dusty appearance unlike the smooth natural rubber Omega uses. Third, I tried all sorts of fatter spring bars and the bottom/longer strap still pops out at the case. The reason is not the bars, but there is not quite enough rubber "lip" to hold the bottom edge of the strap in place. The (inelegant but effective) solution was to stick a thin sliver of a folded up Post-It note between the lower edge of the strap and the case. It can't be seen, and it works, but it bugs me knowing it's there. Even with these issues it's a great strap, and as nice as the UPO bracelet is I won't be going back to it for a while--at least until QOS is out.... Read my post about getting the genuine springbars. I had the same problem but not anymore.
doc savage
Thanks, I did try genuine springbars and the longer strap still popped out. I think the "hole" where the springbar goes is positioned a just a little bit too close to the end of the strap.
mauro
Hi everyone, This is my first post and let me say it was the greatest thing finding this site. I ordered my Casino Royale 007 PO with Rubber strap and got it in 4 days from Joshua. Thanks to his quick responses and good attitude I ordered my first REP. I have the GEN as well as the REP now and let me tell you I am happy with the REP. I will post pics and a review on another post. Let me say for now that the $68 that Joshua is asking is not bad. The REP and GEN both feel the same and look the same.
andreww
I've got both the UPO as well as the Silix PO. One thing I can tell you is that my UPO bracelet will not fit on to the Silix rep. The lugs are shaped slightly different and I imagine the lug holes are in a slightly different place as well. This may be the cause of the problem people are having with the Silix strap not staying put on the UPO. My guess is that it was designed for his watch, and even though it can be fit into an UPO case, it still is not right. Bottom line is to buy the strap that was made for your watch. LegendofSpeed
I have both the silix strap and andrew/josh strap in the air... i will fit both to a UPO and take some pics... we shall see what the differences are...
takashi
Sorry for the overlook. Yes I did received the strap a week ago. It's really top quality with dust repelling properties. Most importantly, it fits UPO rep pretty nicely. Price is a bit steep but I can assure you, the quality is on par if not better than Cousteau's strap or HBB's strap. Dario33
Glad to hear the good news on the new 22mm PO rubber strap -- will be placing my order soon.
lodoubts
Hi boys: the 6th received my new UPO with the rubber strap from Andrew. The strap is perfect, looks much fine and the touch and feel is great, very soft a little like 'satin'. When used it super-confortable, compared with gen from a friend (during a Sat 9th holes play) he was convinced the watch was also a gen. Only a little think...... the order of the parts "seamaster" and "logo & OMEGA" is wrong, on the gen first from the buckle is "Logo & OMEGA" and second "Seamaster", on Trustly strap are switched... (no matter
takashi
Good observation for the strap. Well, it's an easy fix. Dismantle the buckle and then you can reorder the Omega logo and seamaster. Anyway, it should be inverted too. As reference look here: hxxp://www.ofrei.com/images/ome98850000.jpg
doc savage
I really liked dealing with Silix, very professional and a smooth transaction. The strap, however, was making my UPO look cheap so I went back to the bracelet. As for flaws, the pearl in the UPO is positioned about .5mm too low in the bezel insert, a tiny flaw but one that can be spotted from across a conference table. Also the "sea monster" on the caseback has a flat surface, the gen is much more rounded; it's very obvious if you look for it.
trekracer20
How about some photos of that new strap? I'm not picky about lens particulars--I'd rather see it than not!

andreww
If somebody can confirm whether the Trusty/Josh strap will mount properly on the Silix PO it would be much appreciated!

doc savage
Is this the new one? Hard to tell from the photos. http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?products_id=2271 The letters on the underside near the buckle are different from the Silix version, 64 GAE instead of b4 HAF. I have no idea what they are supposed to be though.
