Lollipop
Spent $209 on Ebay for this IMO the quality of the genuine strap is not that great compared to the regular $100-$150 aftermarket alligators, which unfortunately doesn't fit the Santos 100. However the rep strap is so ugly that I think the results are worth it, the gen strap transformed the watch. BTW The gen strap fits perfectly with my rep Santos 100. Close ups: Wrist shots: Comparison shots with the old rep strap and also a $100 Banda Alligator: (Note: I changed the brightness of the pics)
dadog13
the santos 100 is a wonderful dress watch! wear it well...and there was always a lot of complaints about the rep strap that comes with it...and you've definitely solved that issue... great watch again! rocket754
I am a Cartier fan and I am green with envy. The strap really did transform the watch. For some reason I can't even see the dial flaws now Edited June 20, 2006 by rocket754
halley
What I thought also, the dial looks very good too with that nice strap! About that dial what can be done?

Craytonic
Great improvement; Cartier is underrated here.

deltatahoe
@lollipop, great looking dress watch. i agree w/ craytonic, cartiers are underrated here. a couple questions: which size santos 100 is this? joshua has an updated 38 mm (w/ correct swiss made & new clasp, etc), but trusty & others have a 44 mm...on the same note, what are the measurements of the gen strap at the lugs? given the low quality rep strap & lack of quality non-genuine straps for cartier, i think the genuine strap is definitely the way to go with cartier... dt
Lollipop
Please, Lollypop Who was your dealer at Ebay? Try searching "Santos strap" on Ebay and you will find him. Looks great on you! What is your wrist size, if you don't mind me asking? Somewhere around 7" a couple questions: which size santos 100 is this? joshua has an updated 38 mm (w/ correct swiss made & new clasp, etc), but trusty & others have a 44 mm...on the same note, what are the measurements of the gen strap at the lugs? It's the 44mm from Aspire, I got it from Paul about a year ago. The gen strap, apart from the quality of the leather, is virtually identical to the rep strap in terms of dimensions and comes with the same 'plastic bit' at the thick end. Width 23mm, with the plastic bit at around 8mm thick. Length from tip is 115 mm.
Donk
Excellent! Now I'm off to search the 'bay for an OEM strap for mine. Now if I could just find a decent insert for the crown.......
deltatahoe
for comparison purposes (and determining good relative value on ebay), a new genuine cartier strap costs about $190 for calf and $290 for alligator... brad
