AMK000
There was a rumour that the QC on the new 3717's was bad and many of the new watches had problems. Well.... I confirm this rumour The first one I got had a crooked dial ..... it went back. Today I received my 2nd one (replacement)

piratedzeus
Well There are 3717 by other makers. Like for SFSO and Big Bang there are different makers. Many members are not aware of this.

jeff g
I really don't believe that there are any good 3717's being made these days. For the most part... most of the dealers are only able to source what is currently available. So if what is available is crap...then all the current 3717's are crap. The only really good 3717 reps are those that came from EL's original offering. What has come later, has gotten progressivley worse. I would not recommend ordering the newer CN models. For those that really want this watch, the best way to find one is to look for a 'modded' early model that might come available from an original owner that is looking to sell for love of some new watch. But I'd say these 3717's will sell for 600.00 to 750.00 USD...used.
AMK000
I have mailed asking the dealer for a full refund plus postage fee (for this second one which will also go back). Let's see what he says .....(dealer review to follow). Dealer will fully refund .... though still with no watch
promotersf
I agree, I've seen the other generations of the 3717 and the first batch was the best that I got from Eddie Lee 1+ years ago. I used to think that getting the first generation was a mistake since things should always continue to get better, but that's not always the case. In some instances like the Planet Ocean, the later generations were better, but in other situations, 196 old case, Omega 007 bond, etc the first generation is the best. PAMman
This is no surprise to me and fully supports my view that a well cared for example of certain watches, from trustworthy members, are frequently worth more than new watches directly from dealers. This subject was discussed in another thread where used watches offered at a higher price than new was being criticised. If you buy a used watch from a forum member you will be able to see photos of the actual watch that's being offered for sale.

zzipy
I agree. I have talked about my bad experience with 3717 several times. I have had 3 watches from our collectors, ALL with problems. I don't have one now and have given up on it. What a shame 'cause I really love the watch and with little QC they can get it right.
AMK000
In my case is even worse .... this watch doesn't want me. There must be something like a bad Karma between me and the watch. Not only I had 3 defective ones (which of course all went back to the dealer/s) ..... but I one that I bought recently from another member here .... was send unregstered and it was either lost or stolen. ..... prefer not to talk about it ... but maybe I will have to. By-Tor
You always receive defective watches. You must be the unluckiest man on the community. PS: Why would anyone save a few pennies and send something unregistered?
pafre
I believe the first version without AR is still available from some dealers. Got a quote a couple of weeks ago from Hontwatch at RWI for both the old and new version. Very good deal on the old version (230$ shipped EMS to Canada if I remember). He can even send pictures of the watch with your name on a tag, so no drop shipping, but don't know if he does QC. I did order an HBB from him last month and was very pleased. Didn't buy the 3717 as I went on a PAM extravaganza since.
seadweller3
Sounds like you had bad luck. My 3717 is spec-fuccin-tacular! Now The Zigmeister-fied with proper date wheels and lume job. Mine also has an unheard of 54 hour power reserve!!!!! Outfitted on a brown IWC gator strap with signed buckle. I hope things work out for you. AMK000
You always receive defective watches. You must be the unluckiest man on the community. PS: Why would anyone save a few pennies and send something unregistered? No ... I am not always receiving defective watches ..... but I do receive many (3 out 5) .......and for sure I am complaining more than others when I receive them. On the registered .....and the few extra pennies: In act you fact the guy paid even more. Watch was send urgent, insurred and trackable (for the urgency only)....... but for some strange reason, all these extra options did'nt required the parcel to be delivered in person and upon signature (???!!!). Maybe just lack of experience ... may be just bad luck. Anyway ... resolution is still pending.
