SSD CG Mods?

When modding the SSD CG's, do you just need to thin the inside of the CG (the crown side) or do both the inside and outside need to be done? What about the thickness of the CG? Is it ok?

Most people just do the inside and it looks OK. I'm of the opinion that the SSD is very difficult to make correct relative to (say) a noob sub. The problem is that the tip of the CG is so close to the crown that if you trim it away it will be too thin and you lose to much curvature when viewed from the side. Maybe a gen crown helps--I stuck with the rep crown.
