Start of my PAM collection

Hey guys just wanted to say hello as I have been busy reading all the info I can and acquiring a few PAMs in the process. I'm fairly new to the rep world its been about 6 weeks since I discovered rep PAMs. I've been studying as much as I could and this is my first post!

I've acquired a few PAMs during my short start in rep collecting and so far I narrowed it down to 3, actually its down to 2 now the 01B and the 217. After owning a wide variety of these first hand, I can finally say I know exactly what I want. I prefer the sausage dial PAMs and the original pre-v watches. Theres something about the early collection that reminds me of the original history Panerai. Take a look and let me know what you think. I cant say all my purchases were smart ones but every noobie makes his mistakes.

I am thinking about replacing the 176 with is the 02B or a 5218-201A. The person who bought the 176 went totally nuts over acquiring it and am glad its going to another PAM freak :).

Here are some photos of my small collection.

The 01B needs quite a few mods and I think it'll be fun acquiring the pieces over time. I just got the correct 01B case back yesterday, needs to get a nice fat and flat lume, dsn hands, install the tall CP, palp crown, and I'm dreaming when I say this a JF case set lol, not to mention a dsn sapphire. Quite a long list of parts but I'm sure one day it will get finished.

As for the 217 I think I really enjoy it as it is with all its 'flaws' as a rep. This is one of the pieces I just enjoy having and dont care about having it fully modded.

The 176 thats going in the mail today going to miss this one :(

Thanks. :p I will.

I dont think its a matter of the text being too 'big' but that the relatively white text stands out more than the gen ivory coloring.

Incredible example which I will be ecstatic to own.

It's both. ;)

Having said that, the "L Swiss Made L" position and the shape of the 2 more than make up for the font being a little too big and too white. Great watch!

I couldn't agree more. For an H-series this is the best dial I've seen so far.

Thanks for the responses, the 176 will be a hard piece to replace as it was the only one fully built up. But after owning a few different models, I really enjoy wearing the 01B and cant wait to get it built up. Sausage dials are my favorite ones and will be on a hunter for the 002's eventually :).

Scoobs - The text size is not what makes it look big but rather the color in my opinion. It's very close to the gen my friend picked up over the weekend. You are also correct this is a dsn 112H dial.
