  1. Thats not cape cod Gen 28 pvd case, cg, crown, crystal with cyclops. Def as close to gen as you can get missing dial and hands! Love this piece Robert, by far my favorite build of yours.
  2. How about you hold onto my 0 for another day and let me that the 112 for a spin Nice photos and that simona gator is a beaut...makes me want one as well.
  3. I wouldnt make a huge detour to just go to the boutique, I stayed in Florence for 3 days which was the only reason why I made time to go see it. I don't see why your wife would be upset, the city is beautiful and everything is just great to look at. There is also a nice museum right in the area you could just drop her off there while you take a quick look around the store.
  4. Sounds good to me T, I'll be looking forward to the 48 teeth crowns when they are made.
  5. I dont think the 52 teeth crowns can be limited to just the pre-V models. There are no pre-V's that are automatic as far as I can recall. My assumption is that these crowns bled through the model range until the A series.
  6. In regard to the link LegendofSpeed provided in this thread, I see two different crowns in the 8 photos (two of the photos are of identical watches the PAM009A). 201A, 036, and 001A have the same crown thickness and teeth. This looks like the 48 teeth crown to me. The pre-A 002, pre-A 009 pre-A 001, 002A, and 009A have the same crown. These look like the 52 teeth crown to me. In my eyes I think they are definitely two different crown manufacturers being told to produce them during Officine Panerai, and during the first 2 years where Richmont first took over. Here is an example of gen 5218-203A where there were roughly 200 made. If you look at the first two photos and the last photo, you can clearly tell that even with a single model pre-V there are two different crown on this watch. I can pull up some photos of pre-V 5218-207A where you can see this same difference in crown. I cannot tell you exactly how many teeth are on there but there is a clear difference in the number of teeth on there. But from what people are saying are on their more recent manual wind PAMs. It should be fairly easy to deduce that the 52 teeth crown manufacturer was cut by Richmont. If you want try and determine the validity of the crowns being gen or not thats up to you guys to determine. I see these 52 teeth manual Ti and 52 teeth auto PVD/SS as being gen until proven otherwise.
  7. Can someone explain to me what the difference is from the seconds hand? I have a 2892 movement PAM28 and I really dont see a difference. I'd like to learn something new today
  8. I thought I read that it was an EL box but I'm not sure if it really does exist. I'm sure there are some out there though unless a gen owner really did part out his watch ?
  9. dave It's because of your 2d that I have been on a search since April for just the right one. I am in the process of picking one up or at atpeast the dial that is.
  10. So do we have any idea as to if the autos have more teeth or not?
  11. I completely agree people were paying close to $100 for palp crown. T thank you for making these for us I plan on picking up a few as well of either one 60 or48. Which ever a the final crown to be produced and available.
  12. Deleted as you recommended! I'd like to see someone with a gen auto count their crown to confirm a teeth count on it.
  13. I knew you were involved in this trickery somehow! We'll hopefully with everyones input we will narrow down what the actual teeth count is for the gen crowns.
  14. Well thanks Mike for giving me a gen PVD crown in a lever case! So where did this 'gen' crown come from I want a refund! j/k
  15. Well here is my 411 on the crown teeth count. I have a gen PVD auto crown and the only auto that is PVD is the 28A and B series. This crown has 52 teeth on it and you can count the teeth on it to verify as well. I originally thought I counted 54 but after recounting it I see that it is indeed 52. So I apologize for saying 54 teeth when I clearly see 52.
  16. Sorry guys I did a better job of counting the PVD auto crown I was definitely wrong about 54 teeth its 52 on the gen PVD auto crown of mine Here is a 100% crop of how I counted my gen crown. I taped the crown off into sections of teeth covered in tape and not covered in tape. 14 + 10 + 18 + 10 = 52. Please excuse my tore up looking OP crown package.
  17. Here are some photos I took from the Japanese collectors website. I think I see what looks like 48 on preV and 54 on the A. I could be wrong I hope Sylar can chime in as I believe he has a manual crown from an A-D series.
  18. I'm also wait for chinkiechunkie to count his 112J teeth if he can stop being lazy and do it like I asked a week ago when T released his crowns.
  19. I counted 54 on my gen PVD auto crown which was only made for the A-B PAM28 I counted 48 on my manual wind 000H
  20. cskent - you can find the full info on what went into this watch here http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=81253 This watch used parts from a lot of different dealers.
  21. I wish the factory who made this dial would come back and make some more painted dials
  22. Guys I wanted to share with you a quick photo comparison of my gen 000 and my rep 000 that I just finished making on Monday. I'll go in depth at a later time with better photos of the actual case and its dimensions. But from my experience the standard rep case from the cartel is amazing. The edges are a touch rounded on the rep but unless you are looking for it you will never know the difference. Anyway here are some photos to see what I'm talking about. I think the rep is very good as I took the Ted Su off it it and put it back on the rep thinking it was the gen lol. The 'flaws' are there but when looking at the watch as a whole and on the wrists its virtually indistinguishable. We can talk about the thickness of the lume, wrong As or Rs, logo is more bold, the crown looks thinner, ETC. Our dealers provide us with awesome reps and with a little work they can be pretty damn good. One thing I did notice though is that the rep cartel crown I have has 50 teeth. The dimensions are the same as the gen but has 54 teeth. The rep cartel crown I have just has a more pronounced bevel on the teeth which makes it reflect as looking smaller. Last thing I would like to note is that V's crownguards awesome and dare I say BETTER than the gen?
  23. Thanks guys for the comments, I love wearing this watch as its just simple and understated
  24. FGD - Thanks, I love my base PAMs the most. As it stands I'd love to add another to my collection Ztech - This is actually the best assembly I've done and the first few were in need of some work. I cant wait to complete my future projects as they slowly trickle in.
  25. I agree those two look great and the finish of the PVD coating is awesome . I need to hurry and get my 28 coated already!
