  1. I finally finished my first project watch from the ground up, and cannot believe how well it turned out. Alot of my projects are at about 90% completed, and this is the first one of the bunch to come back Thanks goes out to the following people who made this build happen and in no particular order. Brobert Chinkiechunkie Ted Su Mike Vac V (RWG) aka Kostas Jay aka Silix-Prime The watch took about 2 months to complete after sourcing all the parts for it and am happy with the way it turned out. Vac did an amazing job and followed my request for the flattest possible lume and its very very flat and nearly flush to the dial face. Modifications & parts used: Installed tall CP Modified crown stem to sit closer to case Removed AR on crystal Brobert polished the case and crown Brobert refinished the V CG and lever pin Standard rep crown with 50 teeth and 1.99mm wide Vaclume of dial & hands in C3 Silix 000 dial Ted Su croc strap Gen lug screws so its flush to both sides of the watch case lugs Swiss movement I think that about covers it here are the photos of the finished project. There are a couple small details that need to be covered but am done with the watch for the time being. Lume shot taken in manual mode at ISO400, shutter 1/4 sec, f/2.0, metering Average. I love how flat the lume is! Ultimately I would like to have a dial that had hour markers that were cut out. Then filled completely and flush to the dial but thats basically dreaming .
  2. Not bad??? This one is awesome..I'd love to see these in real life one day!
  3. Amazing you take on all these projects at once! I cant wait to see more of your projects.

    T - crowns

T - The crown looks great! Just out of curiosity how many teeth are on the T-crown for your production model?
  5. I'd like to say legendofspeed or chinkiechunkie as they have quite a few gen crowns and on their watches as well...Also gen 112 to compare it to. Not to mention that the three of us have 5 V's CGs to test it with on DSN, puretime, and josh/andrew case.
  6. The 28 is a beautiful watch and being your grail piece I would pick it up as well. I wish I could add something but Kruzer pretty much got it all!
  7. I'll take a gen dial, sapphire and hands....just not for those over inflated prices!
  8. I'd be there but I'm on a short leash on the weekends...that last get together got me in trouble down in carlsbad lol.
  9. Mine is definitely cream colored but its not grey like I've seen some fiddy's.
  10. I'm waiting on a ted su ammo for it, but right now its sitting on a toscana strap
  11. Well I thought I'd share my 127 that I finally got back . It's a DSN watch that I ordered without a movement back about 2 months ago. I was just waiting for the right movement to put into it and I absolutely love it. I couldn't stop looking at it that I've been taking photos of it practically all night . I ended up ordering three crystals and had the AR removed from them and then pressed in flush. I figured it'd be better safe than sorry to see a shattered crystal. Other than that this is a pretty much an out of the box DSN 127.
  12. Theo....Your 207A looks amazing....I love the patina on the original green lume dots. Now I wish I could do this to my 207A as well !
  13. Robert is a watch enthusiest like most of us are but has a knack for cleaning up cases and making them shine and look new.
  14. Robert's refinishing skills are so amazing I had share these photos with you guys. Robert offered to repolish my case and brush my V's crownguards and I couldn't let this opportunity slip by. Not to mention that his photography skills are excellent, and its all about the lighting! He did a fantastic job on the finishes and met with a bunch of my requests and little details. I believe he also reshaped the CG feet to fit flush to the case as well. My guess is that he's still working on the other parts I gave him but here is a sneak peak of what he did send me. It looks amazing and I cannot believe this is my watch. Thanks again Robert and I look forward to see some wrist shots before I get it back!
  15. S - Simply amazing, wear it well. One question though, how does DSN's C3 hands match up with the gen dial lume in real life?
  16. Vly - Regardless I'm sure your strap is going to look amazing and extremely comfortable on your wrist. Cant wait to see your wrist shots
  17. Your order sounds good... I have 6.5" wrists and I'm wearing his croc strap at 75/138. The tail on the long end of the strap comes up about 10mm short from reaching the lugs of my watch. It think it looks awesome at his recommended length. The two ammos I just placed an order for are going to be 80/140 and he said because of the thickness of the ammo straps it will wear very similar to my current 75/138 length strap from him.
  18. Sorry for the second post didnt mean to hit add reply. Slai- What ammo would you say that strap on your fiddy is in relation to the photos posted by the OP?
  19. Kruzer - I agree with you as well about the early A/B series crocs, those are amazing straps as well. Those A/B straps look great on PVD watches!
  20. Vlydog- you will not regret purchasing a Ted Su strap! I got my croc strap from him about a week ago and its on my 000 at the moment. I've put in an order for 2 more straps as well, these are the softest and most supple straps I've ever had touch my wrists. Sorry these are the only photos I have it of online at the moment.
  21. VLY - That destro looks awesome and the CG on it looks great too. Brom - That Skyland shot is the best I've seen yet of one. Today is the 201A for me on dirk gen 1.
  22. Avitt - I would go with dial #1 on the left. I think once you lume dial #1 it will get a bit wider and the overall finish will be a closer spacing with the 6 and L SWISS L. The A's look better on the left dial as well.
  23. I have one on an early DSN case for my 207A. The case doesnt have flattened portions for the CG 'feet' if you want to call it that. So the edges of the CG do not touch the body of the case completely. I am still trying to figure out what might be the best way to do so with the least amount of modifications. Also if you have his early case from atleast 2 years ago the CG screw holes are about 1mm lower than the current Josh and Andrew cases.
  24. Wow if I had a 201A and they sent that back to me...I'd be more than upset! Then again I would love to have a painted base 000 like that rather than the current 000.
  25. Bruce it depends on the models for example some of the SE models dont even have AR. Another example is this gen 112J the AR is very faint and has a slight purplish/bluish hue to it. The next time we have a socal get together I'll point it out to you. You were at the Carlsbad get together right?
