jmt Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 Hi guys. Looking for a new watch box. Something really nice, but nothing in particular. So, I am calling on the collective wisdom of the community for the best source and nicest boxes. I thinking something for at least 10 watches, but 15 or 20 might be better. Thanks for your ideas and suggestions! J
HauteHippie Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 I have the 10 watch version of EBay item 310055703842, and wish I had the 20 watch version. But the case itself does the job and I'm happy with it. Acetimer is a good place to shop for boxes, too.
halley Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 Look for a used scatola del tiempo, I do not regret mine, 4+4 bought for 35
Stephane Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 Hi Guys, Just wanted to share my source for these boxes (that can be found on ebay at much higher prices). I'm not sure I should post the email of the guy here, so feel free to contact me in private. ravishingrick Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Have not pulled the trigger on a watchcase yet. People in the states can get very good deals on watchcases via eBay, take eBay seller acetimers stuff for instance. Watchcases from European based (eBay) sellers costs about two or three times a much as the U.S. offerings. Getting one from the U.S. basically kills the deal due to high shipping costs and due to the size, the high chance of having to pay customs duty on the item. Total bummer maybe I shall just make one myself.
robertb Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 You get what you pay for. I bought 2 watch boxes recently for under $100 each and both arrived damaged. I opened one of them 3-4 times and the hinge screws fell out.
halley Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 The key to find a scatola at a good price is to look for leather watch box on the bay, people not always know what they own... Bought the black 12 watch box above for 75
takashi Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Get one from China... That one is for 24 watches (bulky item). Paid 80 Eur inclusive shipping.
