blue_sphere
I see these two brands have VERY similar cases. Each even have thier own "sub". Is tudor some branch of rolex? I googled info with not much luck. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Dizzy
yes Tudor, which used ETA movements, is a sub-brand of Rolex. The older Tudor watches used to use Rolex crowns and bracelets and clasps with Rolex logos on them. Those are the ones most desired by collectors. ubiquitous
In the begining, Rolex and Tudor were very closely related with Tudor being the subsidiary; Rolex provided Tudor with the same cases, movements and even the same warranty. As years passed on, the brand identities of each had started to drift apart; now, they're viewed with a far more autonomous perspective. Designs and styles are less homogeneous, and Tudor is viewed as a lesser brand (regarding their current model offerings). With regards to vintage; several of the old Tudors have been following suit of their crowned counterpart and have been growing in demand. Models of interest include the manual Monte Carlos and Military Divers (MN).

blue_sphere
Hrm well the thing about it is that rolex is a status symbol. When I saw "tudor" I thought "man what a cheap knockoff" Do people with tudors ever get comments about people actually knowledgeable about watches?
