deltatahoe Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 was wondering if anyone has purchased one of the new ap roo safari's. while the dial looks too white in the pictures (it should be more of a cream color), i think we all know that you really can't tell how a watch will look in person from our dealers' pictures... so, anyone want to post pics of their new safari? thanks in advance, deltatahoe
italiano17771 Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 i really dont think that rep is suppose to be the safari. the dial colors are not even close. the safari should be cream with white subs and very dark brown numbers. i think they will be realeasing a better version in the future.
pismo Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 (edited) Not really cream on mine but on some differents sides it could be :-) , the only thing is the slide rool too much 'metal' like . Exept that, i really love this BIG piece it's a real beauty for me :-) Hope it help . Edited July 4, 2008 by pismo

It's a ref: 25721ST.OO.1000ST.07. I went to my local AP dealer and looked at the gen. And apart from the apparent date flaws etc. it was REALLY close. I didn't do a compare there, but from memory it was hard to see much difference - both in overall look, feel and weight and in detail.

It is Safari 26020ST except in SS bracelet i/o leather band. 25721ST.OO.1000ST.07 is the white dial with silver subs and greenish markers in SS band.
deltatahoe Posted July 5, 2008 Author Report Posted July 5, 2008 @bertieng, i'm assuming you haven't ordered one of the new safari's just yet? thanks for the clarification, deltatahoe
trinsic Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 There are some good gen pics of the Safari in action... Link
Mickey Padge Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Great set of pictures here too: http://www.iforia.com/watches/audemarsroosafari/index.html Should be a cream dial and brown markers.....
Manitou Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 OR Black on White http://www.kronosclub.com/ROC/mainX.asp?mnuNum=26020 There's even a high-res image...
Mickey Padge Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Gen Safari pictures! Looks like cream dial, white subdials with dark brown numerals to me
Manitou Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Looks like cream dial, white subdials with dark brown numerals to me Actually looks like silver sub dials?
Mickey Padge Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Actually looks like silver sub dials? Could very well be, very tricky to tell when the next colour is an off white/cream. Just shows how hard the replication process is, without the gen to hand.... Makes me wonder what dial version AP ROO they purchased to make the rep. It is a safe bet it was not the Safari

Mickey Padge Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 My guess it's the white/light green/silver, since it's the only one with correct date wheel colour (silver). I agree that is the most accurate out of the three for sure
Manitou Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I agree that is the most accurate out of the three for sure But as I was told, the next shipment of watches will be factory modded with the correct date dial colour. Should be fairly easy to fix the safari also....
