pfran42 Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 My buddy came over and with no knowledge of rep watches, looked at a few pics on this forum and started shaving the crown guards on the Trusty sub that I sold him. Please let us know if we should keep trimming and if we are on the right track..or if this is enough and that the CG's are complete. Thanks!
Sir-Lancelot Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Keep going, it needs more, but it's really going to be hard for you to tell with that big goofy ass crown that's on it.
pfran42 Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Well sonofabitch!!! We didn't realize how goofy the crown was till you pointed it out. WE WILL GET THERE!!!!
alligoat Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 I wouldn't go any further. Basically, I think you're there. A smaller crown would be next on the agenda. But that's a whole nother lesson. I actually think a Rolex crown is smaller than the noob crown in width, as well as height, so I'd leave it like it is.
freddy333 Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 You did great for a 1st try. But SL is right - the crown on your watch is too large compared to the genuine article.
Guest carlsbadrolex Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 DONT shave off anything else until the correct crown is installed. I give you credit for getting them even. Can we see a profile shot to see what it looks like. T
