By-Tor Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 R.I.P Leroi, the great musician! I loved his playing... he's going to leave a big gap, and I wonder how they're going to replace his unique saxophone sound. http://www.vh1.com/news/articles/1593146/2...819/index.jhtml
fotoman Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 thats AWEFUL - how did he die? heart attack? wow - you know i'm 34 - i'm getting to that age where mysteriously people die of random heart attacks also, been looking at new advances in projecting life expectancy - it is very possible that within the next 40-50 years, we will be able to live, for several hundred years. - Except for things like this - there have been advances in working with genes that turn off the aging of individual cells. - very interesting stuff. personally i dont' want to live for 200 yrs - at least if they can't fix all the other genetic issues i got going on. we are on the cusp of the next step in evolution - genetic manipulation. and the merging of the organic and the mechanic tis interesting.
andreww Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 ATV accident, not a heart attack. A real loss.
jjfesq Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 That sucks bigtime #41 will never be the same. Glad I saw him play over 10 times most recently at SPAC on a sat night just before the accident. This is an all time bummer!
By-Tor Posted August 20, 2008 Author Report Posted August 20, 2008 One of my favorite LeRoi playing is in "Two Step". Saxophone doesn't have a big role in it, but it adds so much to the song.
Shundi Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I was so sad when I saw this..I'm listening to "Ants Marching" right now, all DMB today lol... I think he died due to complications from an ATV accident a few months back...he moved back to his place in California and died "unexpectedly"
