so if they are wearable i shouldn't bother?

It'll get smoother over time as you wear it. But if its a bit edgy, some fine grit will soften it up a bit, won't hurt to brush it a bit.

The bracelets are very easy to work with. You mine as well pick up some sand paper. You'll want to brush the minor scratches out that develop from normal wear eventually. Hobby stores sell a packet of sandpaper squares, theres about 6 or 7 in there, with varying levels if grit all the way down to a very fine grit. They are washable and work pretty well for my brushed bracelets.

remember dont take too much off the sides, you can take more off but can never put more back on. Easy does it.

I just finished doing this so I'll add my 2 cents worth. A new watch from Narika, a "begin"mariner came with edges that could cut you. I used 360 grit wet or dry sandpaper and it only took a few minutes. Then, since it had polished edges which were lightly scratched, I used the Dremel to polish the sides. It came out much better and was quite easy. It's 100% better, now.

I've been sanding down the cg's with 360 wet/dry, also lately. Pull the movt, tape off the tube and the edge of the bezel and cut some thin strips of sandpaper and work them back and forth. Works so well, I haven't had to follow up with any polishing. It's a little slower than filing, but after filing you have to use 360/600/ and 1000 to smooth it out.
