HauteHippie Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Here is a side by side of gen big wings and small wings dials. If you ask me, I'd say the small wings is a little nicer looking in person. And, to answer all PMs, I do still have access to some dials but they will most likely only be the small wings version. (Some people have decided to transplant their rep big wings logo onto their gen small wings dial! To each their own!!) The blue is really nice. I might just do my franken in blue instead of black after seeing all three side by side. Here's a quick pic...
iceberg1127 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 I do appologize if this is the wrong medium for this question, but how much are the dials going for?
deltatahoe Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 wow -- i'm surprised....was expecting to like the black dial the best, but i agree, the blue dial is really nice moreover, rep dials rarely get the blue right, so the gen dial would likely be a pretty noticeable upgrade in this regard.... i think it would look great on a blue rubber strap deltatahoe
HauteHippie Posted September 11, 2008 Author Report Posted September 11, 2008 DT, I agree. I thought blue would be my third choice.... It's not Something about the silver on the navy just looks very sharp. Much better in person than in this poor pic too.
skjalg Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 nice dials, but I am a bit confused.. does the gen come in both big and small wings? On ebay and breitling.com I can only find small wings! Is the big wings a very old version perhaps?
HauteHippie Posted September 11, 2008 Author Report Posted September 11, 2008 I'm not a Breit expert, but believe the big wings logo is found on the newest dials and the smaller wings logo is the previous version. I'm not sure if they switched from the Pro-1 to Pro-2 bracelet at the same time they changed the logo on the dial. But, clearly, the only difference between the dials is the size of the logo, though. In any event, all dials in the pic are gen.
bwhitesox Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 That blue dial would pop evenmore under some nice AR coated crystal. Chief, Whats your take on the new SA rep in regards to the AR coating?
HauteHippie Posted September 11, 2008 Author Report Posted September 11, 2008 Chief, Whats your take on the new SA rep in regards to the AR coating? Best rep AR coating I've ever seen.
coolfire Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 dunno why, but i'm just so attracted to the white one...
HauteHippie Posted September 15, 2008 Author Report Posted September 15, 2008 chief, Man, that blue is just Ubi, I know! I've changed my mind about my franken.... It just has to be blue!
Dave123 Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 Yup,the small wings logo dial was changed when the model with the pro2 bracelet put on it came out in '06.....dial and bracelet changed at the same time....so a small wings logo dial would have a Pro1 bracelet....unless the gen owner upgraded, which of course happens.....
milsub5517 Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 any side by side shots of gen and rep dials?
poopypants Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 anyone have gen dial in a rep pics yet?
anoch86 Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 anyone have gen dial in a rep pics yet? how much did you get the blue dial for, how much are they going for these days. I'm looking to switch up my rep dial for a gen one.
yodap Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 you can find them from 200 - 300 if you are looking for small wings. If you are lucky you can get them even cheaper!
krpster Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Nice pic Chief. Thanks for sharing. A friend of mine has a Superocean Chrono (gen) with the blue face and silver subs and it does "pop". Really nice dial. I would expect the SA to be the same. Very sharp! Hoever I am with coolfire...the white dial SA....love it
