Birdman Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Got this on Ebay for $24.99 plus $25 shipping. Seems to be stainless steel. Tight crown guard. The lume is actualy better than any of the reps that I own. Automatic movement. Not that bad for $50 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=320001693421 What do you think?
Linder Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 (edited) That's pretty cool. My grandfather who served in WW2 could use a new watch that is big and easy to read but in his 80s, most watches are now uncomfortable to his now bony wrist. I really like the Graham VE-Day to atleast give him something he could play with but he was part of the asian campaign and not in Europe. Anyone have some ideas? Edited July 13, 2006 by lw54
lefty47 Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Graham has a "Pearl Harbor" Model which I have seen advertised in the watch magazines. It's only sold in the US. I wonder why.... My dad was a WWII Navy man in the Pacific. I'd love to get a rep of that in his memory. Haven't seen it yet though. Does anyone know if it exists? Trusty? Neil? Anybody?
Linder Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 (edited) Incredible idea, Lefty. I found this on it: http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tre...11347&rid=0 After seeing the picture I don't think it would be possible to rep the one pusher chrono Edited July 13, 2006 by lw54

A titanium Pam on a strap perhaps? 036 or 176 or 177? Just make sure it IS titanium.
Linder Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Thanks Chronus. I think I will do some research on the PAM 176!
narikaa Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 A titanium Pam on a strap perhaps? 036 or 176 or 177? Just make sure it IS titanium. As he served as 'part of the asian campaign' of WW11 I am intrigued as to your thinking..... just what memories do you feel a homage to Italian Submariners invoke? .
fitmic Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 just what memories do you feel a homage to Italian Submariners invoke? . A tribute to fascism?
dadog13 Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 (edited) not a perfect watch...but for 50$..it is more than ok... Edited July 14, 2006 by dadog13
Linder Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Honestly I don't think it will invoke anything special. I just thought a large and light weight watch would be useful
