narikaa
One thing that never tarnishes in GZ is that 'WTF Factor' Every day there is something to open your eyes and make you wonder, sometimes its just something as simple as puzzeling over the vectors involved in propelling an indigenous person forward when their legs go out with each step at 45 degrees away from the direction of travel. Or why Chairman Mao put them all on a mission to carpet the country in sputum. But today I was taken with what perverse rationale was being employed by this caring mother taking her kiddie for playtime in the midst of six lanes of fast moving !!!! . its_urabus
you should send that in to the darwin awards. I dont even like my kids playing in an empty parking lot, let alone ON A FREEWAY!!
V
Amazing.. but not an uncommon site even in the more civilised Greece... Small children (usually gypsies) in traffic lights begging for money...

tmg
Geeez! I have a heart attack when my nearly 2 year old climbs up on a stool maybe a foot off the ground.
luisik
What also makes me perplex is to see these two girls at scantly eight meters which do not pay attention to this so sad scene. It is horrible to see how some human beings can accept other's misfortunes as something normal and without importance.
Toadtorrent
Yowzaaa!! Fast death from getting clobbered...or slow death from pollution. Yikes. It's probably also a reflection of where they might live...if that's an acceptable place to play.
ryyannon
Umm....ever hear of homeless people? She looks like she's carrying everything she owns on her back. Plus the kid. If that were the States or Europe, I'd say that she'd just been left off by a driver and has no idea of where to go next. Perhaps a country woman who's traveled to the city looking for a way to survive. At any rate, she does look like the other side of China's 'economic miracle.' Multiply that by hundreds of millions and you've eventually got a revolution on your hands. Time to buy those watches before the ship hits the fang....
