Another nube from Blighty!

I'm new here and from the UK (Blighty) - a couple of days of intense reading and decided to post ;o)

Now in Deal, Kent formerly Cambridge.

Having read a LOT I'm going to buy from Andrew @ Trustytime unless you can recommend someone closer to home ;o)

Going for an Omega PO 45mm Casino Royale with rubber strap - cool! Have a brother coming 18 soon who is a Bond nut and thought he would like this even if his older brother can't afford the original ;op

Any pointers anyone before I commit?

Hi Daz and welcome,

I am a new member also and I'm sure you will have found this is a great place to increase your knowledge.

There are a few dealers based in the EU including Trusty, you may also want to look at PT (Precious Time - PTwsiss.com) and Eurotimez (eurotimez.com)

Cheers

Simon

Welcome from darkest Surrey :)

As has been previously said, Eurotimez is UK based and highly recommended as he QC's every watch he sells.

Andrew (Trusty time) and Josh (Perfect Clones) are both good dealers, though, and will give you good service.

Wherever you decide to buy, enjoy your reps! :)

Read some bad (here) about Eurotimez so thought of Trusty.

Odd - I think I've read fewer bad reports of Eurotimez than any other dealer... oh well.

Not bought from Chris myself yet (planning to shortly, however), but several friends have done business with him and have nothing but praise.

Ultimately, though, the thing to do is to read the dealer reviews and make up your own mind about who you feel comfortable dealing with.

welcome mate, I`m from the UK (Surrey) too, have bought from Puretime (Angus) and Silix, planning to treat myself with a new purchase from PT this xmas,

I would say you can count on any of the Traders in this forum, I went to China last year and found the chinese generally a very honest people to deal with.

You can wait some time for a delivery or confirmation mails which is frustrating but makes the purchse more fun, you just have to plan ahead.

Biggest decision you need to make after what watch you want is how you want to do business and what risks you are prepared to take. No qc? if you get a dud be prepared for the long haul. I would not buy without qc personally.

Welcome and hope you have a great experience.

I order my reps from dealers in china direct. usually get them in 4 days , no problems so far ( touch wood) and if it gets latched in customs another one will be sent.

I am not willing to pay almost 35%- 40% more for QC, customs, blah blah blah.

Spend some time reading and you will make a wise choice.

Fair enough. If youve got a trustworthy dealer in china fantastic. Nearly half price watches. I would take a punt. where do I buy?

However for a first purchase there is no way you want to spend 2 months sorting out the possible piece of cr*p you could be sent. For a first watch I would definately pay 40% more to secure a good rep. Would defo factor in a month for delivery. I dropped a $1000 for my 1st buy. a briet 6.75 a tag and a sub 5 weeks ago. returned the breit 2 weeks ago and its still not in china, and the tag bracelet is faulty keeps popping open so I cant wear it. If I had the choice again I would have paid for qc. Only just found out eurotimez is uk based. I think If you are happy to pay $400 for a good rep and willing to wait a month or so that is the way to go. :D
