Is Steelfish from Silix same as from other dealers?

The traditional "Asian Fish" didn't have AR and had mineral crystal. The use of mineral vs. sapphire has been a debate as some of those who received mineral Fishes, did the water test and swear they are sapphire. Who knows...nobody did any x-ray diffraction analysis or anything.

The ideal Asian in my opinion is just that...DG2813 for simple maintenance/replacement, sapphire and AR...go with it!!

Dial is same. Only difference AFAIK that the movement is asian instead of ETA. BUT: this is not the standard asian version, since this one has AR and sapphire.

Greetz.

that is rather strange  , because silix he lists it as Swiss ETA 2824, for $275, so whats listed on the site is false?

Can somebodyconfirm that this is 2824? You can swap then to ETA:

http://www.watchmaker9.tv/products/parts/eta2824-2.htm

After the swap it'll be more expensive than the standard with real ETA, but note that the gen uses 2824 and the rep uses 2836... That's important IMO...

But this doesn't look like an asian 2824 to me at all...

Greetz.

i think the one that says swiss ETA and costs 275$ actually has ETA or at least a very close ETA copy. the one with the asian seagull movement costs only 100$ at silix.

the price difference can be explained, because silix is usually MUCH cheapter than other dealers.

The Silix one looks different to the other 'mid' SOSF on some of the other dealers websites

The similarly priced perfectclones has same movement but different dial, other specs same. The dial numerals appear 'flat'.

What I find confusing is the $358 one has a 2836 movement, when SOSF has no day function. The extra AR layer and seemingly superfluous mvt upgrade don't seem worth +$80.
