  1. The 104 is a nicer watch imho, date an' all, but the 005 (if dealer has 'em) is a bargain. ~$250 with shipping and you get all the goodies included: Lume, AR, CG, Crown. Everything looking good. The 104 Ultimate hasn't been updated for about 2yrs now. ~$450 with shipping and still needs mods to get it looking good. T48 crown, AR and a re-lume. That's about an extra $300 in mods/shipping. (Even then still iffy with a thin CG and a closed 6 dial[transition year]). Go the 005 or wait (ha as if you could!!) for an updated auto.
  2. Every time there is one of these threads out comes the gen haters and gen forum bashing. Lol My forum better than your forum nonsense. Too bad some rep owners just can't keep their glee to themselves and the rep forums that they have to poison the gen forums with pics. As if to rub it in their faces. Gen forums are for appreciating gen watches. Rep forums for appreciating the astounding value reps offer. And then nit picking every minute detail. That linked thread is one of the most balanced I've ever seen on a gen forum. As for the watch, well looks like someone adheres to the "bag of rocks" philosophy when it comes to 'vintagising'.
  3. I don't know the measurements OP, but you could also get a 111J caseback crystal. They are meant to be sapphire or so I am told. No one with a 177 and calipers can help OP?
  4. Thank you Rolexman for organising this! 1x brown for me please I would also be interested if there is another run for deployants.
  5. 16613TT + Rolex Cufflinks = Sublime Love the cufflinks. Kinda like Burberry collars. Not too in-your-face. Just enough to be pimping. Now is that a full Burberry tartan shirt. OK you lose point for that!!! Just jokes.
  6. I like this, but something about the arabic markers isn't quite right. Maybe it's just because they are too flat and no lume. But I like the carbon and rose gold combo.
  7. As a watch for a woman, it's pretty nice. Plenty of bling, which the ladies love. I would have thought a bejeweled bracelet is more appropriate than a strap, however. Don't get your knickers in a twist. No one is asking you to buy it ffs.
  8. Looking great! Those fat lugs make a huge [and improved] difference imo. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Thanks for sharing. I have been thinking of getting a ultrasonic cleaner and this fits the bill. Nice find.
  10. Silver Themes is good. As accurate as any other ROO, but the problem I have with most ROOs are the bezel screws. They are wonky. Never seen a perfect one and the gen would never have theme like that. To me this screams fake a mile away. I handled a gen and thought them to be very well built and the face looked perfect. That's why, atm, I prefer the Rubberclads and the Survivor. The rubber hides these imperfections and hex bolts on the Survivor doesn't suffer this problem. The new Chronopassion is looking better. I don't know if it's the Ti, but the bezel screws don't seem to be so messed up from the few pics I have seen. Orchard Road, which was also Ti, was a Rubberclad so this is our first all metal Ti ROO. (they should make the re-case the Grey Themes in Ti too)
  11. The noob maker does better case, crown, cg and has sapphire display backs(afaik). Just the lume and AR by the Hublot factory make a bigger, much more noticable difference. I am just glad there are both makers, so we can pick and choose the best bits between them. That's a great pictorial comparison txcollector, the reps are so good now. The beveling is perfect!
  12. A hobbyist's table, surely. Working on his own watches I assume. If that's a watchmakers or modders table it doesn't instill confidence. Sure it may be great work, but bound to be some stuff-up at sometime. I can see the respect for the pieces in those pictures. Maybe some things better left a mystery.
  13. It's a bit rich generalising many Rolex owners as dickheads. Women too? Sounds like penis envy. Every group has their [censored] whether they be Rolex owners or Rep watch guys whom take their fake watches into the AD trying to fool the staff. Pretty sure there is one of those every week posting their story on the boards. Lets not profile folk like the Casio F91W owners were. I'd be pretty [censored] getting one of these lemons. Not just Rolex, there are pictures of Pateks with flaws too (can't find the thread), so no doubt affects all gen marques so a small extent. I'd be more interested in the exchange policy of Rolex. Surely they'd exchange it, right? Everyone is allowed to screw up, but they better damn fix it!
  14. Vac has a new dial $140 for dial and a little more for hands. Both lumed. For AR FineDD -EU Chief - US Taka - Singapore Th problem with getting a 111J is that it's rep lume. A step backwards. Also the cutouts of the top plate font are too thin. As it is though your 111h case is good. if you were to want a 111J case set I'd advise on waiting to see what Vac and Sead offer as their new modded 111s, selling your 111H(maybe keeping the CG and swiss movement if applicable), to offset the cost of a premodded watch.
  15. Next big thing? whatever wm9 makes next, be it the PAM111, GMTc or, hopefully, the Daytona Zenith. But that is aaaages away If Rolex can release a Pepsi GMT, that would be huge. The Tudor Chrono has made me drool, but I wish they did not drop the cyclops. If the Tudor get's repped, new or old, I can see that causing a stir. Still waiting for the 7753 rep that was rumoured and the HBB V1 maker is supposedly going to release some better quality pams. I would like to see a tudor blue snowflake repped.
  16. Thanks for the reply Mickey. Makes this RG HBB even more impressive
  17. Mickey... everytime you post RG HBB I start lusting. The first RG HBB you had made me want to get one. Then by the time I got around to it they were all gone!! So I ended up with a SS/CF/Cer instead. Now you do this!!! Just a few questions, the case and bezel are ceramic. The pushers and crown are plated right? Not that they matter as they aren't wear points. What about the caseback though. Is that ceramic or plated? I am think if it's plated that perhaps I could coat the caseback (with the crystal removed) with something like polyurethane or a similar clearcoat.
  18. If the budget is $600 then the only option is the WM9 or save for a Gen. The APROOs and HBB would require a service at minimum and ,preferably, a relume. These would push you over $600. The WM9 has the added benefit as being clostest to genuine without any modifications.
  19. holy crap. I am sure every AP fan is drooling. I am. What I would give for a 2892 w/DD module. It wasn't a straight drop in was it? new retaining ring I see. How does the DW line up? A little offset? Ultimate ROO.... so lucky
  20. Here is my list of things to do to make an Ultimate HBB Contact txcollector for his HBB crystal, comes with good AR Contact loosetime for a H engraved bridge plate Contact francisco, domi or another to do a rotor mod, regulator (I send the rotor put regulator myself because safer than customs problems to EU) Contact Goin for relume (have a watch with him atm, his past work looks good) maybe he can do service too? Go to Taka website for datewheel
  21. Go by the serial betwen the lugs. It is meant to be the date of maubufacture. 4916 = 49th week of 2016. All V2 have this. V1/V3 have correct dats. V2.
