The use of mineral vs. sapphire has been a debate as some of those who received mineral Fishes, did the water test and swear they are sapphire. Who knows...nobody did any x-ray diffraction analysis or anything. The ideal Asian in my opinion is just that...DG2813 for simple maintenance/replacement, sapphire and AR...go with it!! Greetz. that is rather strange , because silix he lists it as Swiss ETA 2824, for $275, so whats listed on the site is false? You can swap then to ETA: http://www.watchmaker9.tv/products/parts/eta2824-2.htm After the swap it'll be more expensive than the standard with real ETA, but note that the gen uses 2824 and the rep uses 2836... polaris Posted December 2, 2008 Report Share Posted December 2, 2008 (edited) The Silix one looks different to the other 'mid' SOSF on some of the other dealers websites The similarly priced perfectclones has same movement but different dial, other specs same. The dial numerals appear 'flat'. What I find confusing is the $358 one has a 2836 movement, when SOSF has no day function.
