TwoTone
Nah, maybe lady godiva. I wonder how she rides that horse naked... must hurt. Where history, myth and folklore meet there are often confusions and hybrids, again we have only to look at the many versions of the story of King Arthur. Folklore traditions from the Forest of Arden contain many references to women on horseback, this range from fertility rites to stories of fairy tale. There are ancient traditions of a cult of Godda a Goddess or in other versions a Fairy Queen said to ride about the countryside dressed in green and mounted on a white horse. Some versions of this tradition name her Godiva. So there is potentially a Godda or Godiva of story easily confused in an oral tradition with a Godiva of history. Other local traditions connected to this are to be found in rhyme, for example
Craytonic
Ok I just have to ask.... what sort of horse did she ride?
ryyannon
A Horse With No Name. Or in TT's story, a [censored] horse, a white horse, etc. Why is this important to you?
Craytonic
There was a desert in the tale of lady godiva? I would much more expert a dessert.
ryyannon
You're getting warmer.... Lady Godiva was actually Lord Godiva, this really pervy cross-dressing Brit who used to ride around on a [censored] horse (see?) with 'Free Candy' painted on its side. I'd rather not tell the rest of the story....

Craytonic
Why is this important to you? I just noticed that it didn't say censored when a mod said [censored] and wanted to make sure my theory was true. Guess it is! Of course maybe the censor software understand you and TT were using it in a different context... amazing program!
ryyannon
Where history, myth and folklore meet.....blah, blah, blah... Craytonic
the program read your mind - it knew TT wanted to tell the story of lady godiva and you wanted to post it because it says [censored].
