Hi Guys,

Guess its safe to say that most of us are watch nuts who own more watches (both gen and reps) that normal people would.

But which piece is the one that started it all? Well for me, it all began with this.... the SEIKO MONSTER.

Let's see yours....

This monster is on a seriously distressed rep Radiomir PAM strap. Resized to fit into the Monster's lugs.

As I mentioned in Lanikai's thread yesterday, when I was younger, I would buy a new watch every year, and up till a certain age, my goal was to get as similar a watch, to what was being worn in Octopussy, so, this would be the watch which started it all for me :)

Gen 1963 Omega Seamaster Deville , received new at that time as present from my fiancee (now wife).

This watch is still in perfect working order and keeping time accurately.

The watch that always made me drool as a kid in the 70s was this one:

Since then, I've grown out of digital, although I did recently repair a vintage Pulsar for a friend at work. It brought back great memories.

I'll post the watch that got me to join this board and start doing proper rep research. A couple of years ago, I ordered a rep of an IWC Portuguese from Tic-Toc Watch.

The pics of the watch looked much like this model on Josh's site: http://www.jpc8118.com/iw10065-portugese-c...ron-p-3082.html

What I got (after many emails and weeks of waiting) was this piece of cheese:

And no, the year indicator doesn't change, so it will evermore read 2006.

During the many rounds of email nastygrams, the vendor was foolish enough to CC all of his customers instead of BCCing them--this was when he told us that US Customs had seized his latest shipment and he needed some more time to work things out. His mistake allowed us to exchange horror stories about him. One of these other buyers put me onto the RWG and the idea of "trusted" vendors.

I've since purchased several good reps and have been very glad I found this place. It's a tremendous resource for those with our affliction.
