After debating with my self whether to buy a noobmariner or a genuine Seiko, the Seiko won (basically because of Pugwashes picture in the nato strap thread), and here's the first shot of it on my wrist:

The nato strap is on my desk ready to be used, but I kind of liket it on the bracelet as well.

Space, I too and a HUGE fan of Seiko, am buying lots of vintage Seiko stuff at the moment, I just love them and I cant explain why!

Most of the one I have are Tanks, big heavy 70's ones.

The one I'm trying to source at the moment is the Seiko Bullhead.....want one I can build myself, can get the new faces, hands, glass, bezel buttons and crown, new straps, the lot

so am not bothered about the condition at all.

Seiko are the way forward, a good heavy, honest solid lump of a watch.

Well done on your purchase fella, looks cool!

@Kray,

A little OT, but I would be pleased if you could tell me where to source a crystal for a 6138-0040 bullhead.

It is P/N 340W14GN, and whilst there are Steinkruz (?sp), and GS replacements available, I'm damned if I can source a genuine Hardlex!

Am in the middle of a rebuild on a brown faced bullhead, have a face, hands, bezel insert, crown, and even scored an as new bracelet, but the crystal is proving a challenge.

I'm advised that the Steinkruz has a marginally different shape, and doesn't wear as well, and with the way this crystal protrudes, I feel only a Hardlex will do the watch justice. The GS is only acrylic, and will get knocked around in no time.

Any info appreciated.

Offshore

PS Will keep my eyes open for another bullhead, I see them pretty regularly.

I do have a 6106-8237, blue face, which needs a crystal and a bracelet/strap, and runs OK, which i would part with.

The crystal for this one-320W10GN, is readily available.
